Chittering Clawbug Avadon
There are quite a number of books included in Avadon to fill in the backstory, but I had not read a single one of them. Has anyone else avoided reading them too?
Well-Actually War Trall A less presumptuous name.
I read nearly every entry that I found. I play the games for the immersion, and they helped complete the experience. Jeff is a great writer. I also enjoyed looking for awkward wording and grammar/usage mistakes. But that's just me
Understated Ur-Drakon Earth
I read bit from each book.
Chittering Clawbug Avadon
Hmm, I seem to be the odd one out. I guess reading books within the game just reminded me too much of Morrowind and Oblivion where the books added nothing useful to the quests at hand... I had not read any ingame books since then. Hatchling Cockatrice Lilith
I read the first few books, and then about halfway through the game started resolving to read the rest later, and ended up not getting around to it. I don't think I missed out on all that much.

Well, you get experience for finding and clicking on them; you don't actually have to read what each book says to get the reward. I read the first few, like Lilith. I think I stopped reading them after maybe half a dozen.

What he said. I still collected them all and added them to the Codex; I just never bothered reading the text.
Burgeoning Battle Gamma SapientCrow
The thing about this game that has drawn me in the most is the writing and story telling. It is rare to find this kind of vocabulary and grammatically correct writing in a game today. It is also rare to find such an intricate weaving of story. I have read everything thus far.
