Kyshakk Koan Lauren CW
After years of searching for a political party I could ascribe to, I find that to my great delight, it has been there all along, simply /waiting/ to be discovered! http://www.armory.com/~crisper/Scorch/ Beautiful... Hatchling Cockatrice Alorael at Large
The SEP was a fad on Spiderweb, oh, nine to ten years ago. That was also when the forums were themselves hosted on Irony Central, the more standard home of the Scorched Earth Party. —Alorael, who still has his lead pipe somewhere, gathering dust. It's all well and good to be ideological pure, but rifles are faster.
Easygoing Eyebeast keira
A while back I made a SEP facebook page, just so I could set it as my political party. I don't even know why, it was over and done with before I was even aware of what SW was.
Magnificent Ornk nikki.
Oh goodness, this takes me back. The SEP was one of the very first things I remember after joining SW. I think even back then people were remembering the "glory" days of the SEP, so I must have just caught the tail-end of it.

Easygoing Eyebeast Sullust
I'm somewhat disappointed that this wasn't about Somebody Else's Problem
Magnificent Ornk Dikiyoba
We could always make this thread about Somebody Else's Problem. Dikiyoba will leave that decision up to someone else, since you know...
Rotghroth Rhapsody Mysterious Man
Why did we all register at noon? Creepy.
Ineffable Wingbolt BMA
Something to do with the boards not keeping track of the exact time of registration until recently. Great to see old members coming back. It is just as I had prophesied.
Easygoing Eyebeast keira
The UBB didn't keep track of registration time (just date) until the 2008 "upgrade". Everyone before then was given the same time, 12:00 central.

And can anyone prove that they didn't register at noon on their given day of registration before 2008?

Well-Actually War Trall Rowen
Man, nostalgia is overrated. The past if full of nothing but the growing pains that shaped today. Life has the stretch marks to prove it.

Kyshakk Koan Lauren CW
Satire? What?
Ineffable Wingbolt BMA
Why, don't you think its satire? (actually its not surprising, seeing as it came from Ironycentral.)
Hatchling Cockatrice Alorael at Large
Those who think it's satire are definitely in the 90%. —Alorael, who wonders if in the current political climate he could get away with "We are the 10%" advertisements. Or, more pointedly, "You are the 90%."
Well-Actually War Trall Actaeon
There's straight satire, and there's satire with enough truth to draw you in some. At some time, at some deep level, we've all felt like part of that 10%. That's how things like wars, genocide, and social inequality of all sorts get a foothold. If everyone with a light grude picked up a rusty pipe and bashed their fellow, though, we wouldn't eliminate 90%. We'd be extinct. BMA, you have yourself an ally in the straight man* brigade. Usually I prefer this role or devil's advocate. *Think comedy, not sexuality. Both apply to me, but the latter has little to do with this conversation.
