Easygoing Eyebeast The Mystic
If memory serves, "Suspicious Vlish" was actually one of DV's PDNs, and DV was a mod once upon a time.
Hatchling Cockatrice Mea Tulpa
Suspicious Vlish is definitely not Delicious Vlish. No relationship. (DV is like myself: created an account early, but was not present at all until later.)
Easygoing Eyebeast The Mystic
Odd, I could swear they were one and the same. Then again, you'd know the history better, you've been around a lot longer than I have. *does some quick searching* I guess you're right. And I was around while both of them were still actively posting, too. Please pardon my senior moment.

Magnificent Ornk Dikiyoba
I think Suspicious Vlish (also known as Waylander) belongs in the 2004-2006 category, not in the 2001-2003 category, as an active member-at-large. There are very few posts from 2003 and 2004 in the PPP, and there are only a few dozen or so posts missing. The rest are in the 2005-2007 range. From what I remember, Suspicious Vlish mostly hung out in the games forums and got into a bunch of Geneforge-related debates. And, apparently, got permabanned by Jeff due to this thread, which I did not realize until now. Dikiyoba.

Well-Actually War Trall Balladeer
How about: Locmaar Sturg Hawk King Spring Sarasaphilia Dolphin All members at large for Era 3 though I'm thinking Sturg was in with the SV crowd and Spring was into designing. Easygoing Eyebeast Dintiradan
I'm not sure if Sarasaphilia belongs in Era 3 or Era 4. The tail end of Era 3 at best.

The name Sturg is vaguely familiar, but I don't remember him as part of SV. There is no member by that name on the SV archive.
Magnificent Ornk Dikiyoba
Sturg is Ben, who is already on Slarty's list. Dikiyoba.

Easygoing Eyebeast Dintiradan
By the by, was I the only one who kept on mixing up Sturg and Stug?
Magnificent Ornk Aran
I think Stughalf did most of his posting when Sturg was still ben4808, actually. (Even if he didn't, Stughalf never went by Stug as a PDN.)
Hatchling Cockatrice Mea Tulpa
Sarasaphilia is solidly era 4. Even though the eras correspond loosely to calendar years, I am not using exact calendar year cutoffs. For example, the Ikonboard Age ends before the end of 2001, because the Ikonboard did. For new members, Era 2 ends around September of 2003 -- there was a visible cultural shift, thanks in part to the increasing release of information about BoA and community anticipation/prep for that. Earlier in 2003, you get more new members associated with earlier eras: Rosycat, ef, Fort, Nazgul, etc. From the end of the summer, there was an influx of new members who do not feel as "old timey" because they have stuck around for a long time: Jewels, SoT, Nikki, RCCCL, Fatman, Kelandon, etc. Likewise, era 3 ends around September of 2006, with the permabanning of TM and the arrival of ETSD, along with another identifiable wave of new users: Nioca, The Mystic, Jeran Korak, Iffy, Excalibur, etc. Given the academic year schedule that many SWers follow, I suppose September makes a lot of sense for a turnover point! Eternal September...
Magnificent Ornk Aran
By ETSD do you mean ET/SD? (Also: Remember, remember, the first of September...)
Hatchling Cockatrice Mea Tulpa
Yes. The compound acronym ETSD was taken up at some point, I believe, because it sounded like PTSD.
Well-Actually War Trall Balladeer
Huh, it was Stughalf that I was thinking of. The guy with the thing for weasels, right? Sturg was the first name I found that seemed to fit when I went looking for his moniker. Probably should have tried the picture threads. That's where I remember him from most. Curious Artila Thousand
Wasn't it... ferrets?
Hatchling Cockatrice Alorael at Large
It was ferrets. —Alorael, who believes needle/ferrets were Stug's meme weapon of choice. As memes go, there are worse.
Magnificent Ornk Dikiyoba
Dikiyoba thought Stughalf just had ordinary ferrets, and the RW cult had needle/ferrets.
Magnificent Ornk Kelandon
I think the needle/ferrets originated with Stug in the RW cult.
Well-Actually War Trall Cairo Jim
If I remember right there was also a thing about squirrels secretly planning to take over the world in the old Misc.
Magnificent Ornk Aran
By the way, does the retrioactivity and nostalgia we build up in these topics carry over to the RP? Because then we'll have that bus running in no time.
