Is there a way to reach Drath -- or whoever the boss is -- without having Remove Barrier at level 3? I have it at level 2 and I can't seem to reach the goal of this map. Hatchling Cockatrice Randomizer Posted December 29, 2011 Share Posted December 29, 2011 Jeff really has a nasty sense of humor. The level 3 barrier leads to a corridor filled with rubble. You can reach Drath without needing dispel barrier or a piercing crystal. You have to use a hidden switch and pass through the portal rooms to get to him. Having dispel barrier, a piercing crystal or tool use 11 allows you to get to the far side of the room. However you can do melee combat from below the platform. I ended up looking at a walkthru for the first (second?) version of the game which said that you had to use the portals to get to the right place. I'm not lucking into the right combo of portals and I'm getting REALLY tired of killing golemns for no XP ad infinitum. What is the correct portal sequence? The text that was supposed to be visible was "use the east portal three times and then the hidden switch which will finally work to open a passage to the south." Piercing Crystals are equivalent to a level-2 Dispel Barrier spell, yes. There's nothing vital to finishing the game behind any level-3 barriers.
