Back at the Sulfurous Flats, you must've charged in before giving her a chance to talk or something. Basically, if you haven't tried being nice before the very end, it won't be an option. The good news is that a character in A5 confirms that she's dead, although it's not made clear whether the adventurers killed her or if they simply sent her back to the Vahnatai, who sentenced her to death. And I don't think she could ever bring herself to kill herself. No, she was killed by adventurers. It's really the only way to go these days. I'll miss her, at least. I then loaded a save that was just before the final fight with Rentar. I pressed "shift-D" and typed in "sdf 170 14 1" (minus the quotes). The rest was easy.
