  1. Sorry, didnt mean they didnt work - I downloaded from steam and the low resolution just looks dodge on my big screen, and also the cursor moves sluggishly and when you scroll through an area its juddery and gives me a headache
  2. Lol the sects in Geneforge 1 are hardly complicated, just great parts of the game to give you different directions to go and more endings, and can be compared to any religion or government etc based on someone's opinions.. or predujice.. IMO
  3. Hey guys, Recently rediscovered Avernum through A:EFTP and have completed it! I have also downloaded the second trilogy on Steam so I could play 4 and 5, however these two do not play well on my pc and I guess im used to the new perks of the newest version with animated walking etc... So Im pleased to see Avernum 6 is closer to this so im gonna play this one! So yeah, I was wondering if someone could let me know what happened in 4 and 5 if you would be so kind?
  4. The idea of making your own game/scenario in our belived Spiderweb software style could never get old right?
  5. The previous series of Doctor Who was great, looking forward to watching the new one when all the eps are out! Favorite doctor who is Jon Pertwee though no doubt
  6. Hey guys, Really enjoying playing the new Avernum remake, was just wondering what people would say to a new Blades of Avernum one day using the new engine? I loved Blades of Avernum and Exile and thought it was a masterstroke giving people the power to make and share scenarios and keep the company and games on our minds and I loved waiting for new scenarios to come out! ----------------- PS. 8 years ago as a lad I apparantly had the misfortune to produce an utterly dross scenario for Blades of Exile and I cant help having this consuming need to absolve myself by learning code and producing something good either for BOA or a future version!
  7. Brought it 3 times? What a Troopah Yeah, glad you got to see it! You can go to many historical sites in this land with classic English crowds and stress and overbearing staff and making things as complicated as humanely possible or go to God's own county of Staffordshire!
  8. Lol I think that message popping up would be hillarious, "Your too rubbish at this sorry!" "Refund then?" "Nup!"
  9. Shame, These actually really suit Ipads, phones, Androids and the like with the touch screen element IMHO. Still love sitting down with a pot of tea and playing a game on a mighty computer though!
  10. Look like your gonna get Obama for another 4 years, you lucky lucky people, keep out Romney the Thatcher lover UK Labour party member
  11. Oh, and I just purchased this on Steam - never played this updated version !! Thanks for the heads up Tyranicus !! Rediculously good price actually, hopefully Jeff can buy a pint on me
  12. As a Engaland man Its sad to hear that Nethergate (either version) were not huge hits. For me it was nearly equal to my favorite games (Avernum 1 & 2) and had a special place as it centred around an awesome peroid of history here in Britain! I think I did bring myself to play as those cursed Romans a few times... but I loved being woad covered hairy hot water and milk drinking celts!! I remember vividly visiting old castles when I was younger including Staffordshire castle which is 5 mins up the road from where I grew up and features a ruined Saxon fort, once part of a proper motte and bailey fort, and this game felt so local to me!
  13. Hey guys, Just wondering if Jeff was on twitter? Searched and got about 40 Jeff Vogel's lol!

  15. Anything by Mike Oldfield! Hergest Ridge, Ommadawn, Music Of The Spheres...
  16. Oh wow there it is! I'm not sure I want to play this creation of mine though!
  17. Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results! Yeah I saw Avadon, it looks interesting... Is it comparable to Avernum in terms of feel and story?
  18. I honestly cant say I remember, but I was but a tender lad! Then again I do remember you of course, arnt you one of the first to join the forums? Oh what pride that I was annoying legendary poster :s haha
  19. Hi there, I am a new member and wished to say hello from The Black country - ala Birmingham, England! I have recently rediscovered Avernum through the epic and nostaglic re-release of the first game. I had many great memories of playing Spiderweb games when I was younger and its great to see Jeff is still successfully plying his trade with these unique and timeless games! I have played games created by large teams and with massive budgets such as Assassin's Creed, Fifa etc but Jeff's games always had an uncomparable charm, relying on an imaginative story and idea. To be honest after playing any of the Avernum games you realise how meaningless ultra-slick graphics can be if the game has no soul! I also had memories of posting on this board, and out of curiosity I searched for old posts using the email address I just about remembered using all those years ago, and I must say I have had a huge laugh reading how the only Blades of Exile scenario I made turned out to be some sort of in-joke reference to the worst scenario imaginable! (I was called lost_king) I was probably 10 or 11 at the time I made it haha! Good to have grown up since that episode clearly... but boy is it great to revisit your childhood playing Avernum: Escape From The Pit !! Roll on the sequel ASAP!

  21. Hi there, I have recently rediscovered Avernum through the epic and nostaglic re-release of the first game. I had many great memories of playing Spiderweb games when I was younger... and also vague memories of this message board and trying to make scenarios for Blades of exile! Out of curiosity I searched for old posts using the email address I just about remembered using all those years ago and lo and behold I was called "Lost_King" !!! I must say I have had a huge laugh reading how the only scenario I made turned out to be some sort of in-joke reference to something terrible! I was probably 10 or 11 at the time I made it and I am strangely fascinated to hear more about my great work! Can anyone remember? Or send me a copy?? Good to have grown up, but great to revisit your childhood!
