  1. I spread them out, just so that if one character gets knocked out in a fight, there are others in my party still carrying boosts. Besides, with the runestones that give boosts, you can only apply one per piece of armor/equipment, and one character can only wear so many pieces of armor or equipment. Plus, you probably don't want to give a magic damage boost to a shadowwalker or blademaster, just like a melee damage boost would be useless to a sorcerer or shaman.
  2. The ancient Norse J-rune, jera, is also sometimes drawn in a way that resembles a swastika. (Additionally, Hitler used a version of the S-rune, sowilo, for the symbol for the SS.) Jade does seem like an odd material for a weapon, unless it was used as inlay along the handle or haft of the weapon. Same with onyx, actually. Perhaps the Avernite designers meant them as ceremonial weapons only, rather than anything to be used in actual combat?
  3. I'm flattered! I would love to know how yours turns out. Mine struggled with a lot of the decisions forced upon him by the game... which of course is half the fun of playing a lawful good character in a game like this *G*
  4. I'm playing a BM on Normal atm, but for my magic type characters I try to balance out Str, Dex and End, with a bit of Int to ward off mental attacks. I also build up all base skills to level 7 or 8 before starting on any secondary skills. Magic classes I go more Int/End with a bit less Dex and just enough Str so they don't get too encumbered. After that, I usually build according to what skill set I find most useful most of the time. So for a blademaster PC I'd do a left/middle column build for him, probably left/middle for Yoshiria, and right or right/middle for everyone else. (For classes with the Lockpick skill, I also max that out very early on to minimize lockpick use.)
  5. Oh, he does. That's part of what drew me to the series in the first place. For some quests, though, you almost wish there were an option to travel back in time and head them off altogether, because no solution is good or right - just less wrong or less evil.
  6. And don't we all wish that at some point or other... I know I have. *G*
  7. Actually, a larger company might just try to keep the Spiderweb brand and totally revamp the games into something we wouldn't recognize. I can hope not, but...
  8. Hmm, good point about Miranda. Although it would be fun to see what kind of excuse Jeff could come up with for her existence in Ava3...
  9. Makes you wonder what he has planned for Redbeard, Miranda and Dheless in Ava3.
  10. Definitely. It certainly explains why Redbeard was so difficult to defeat in Avadon 1 if you went that route.
  11. You can, but you shouldn't. (The irony? On that playthrough I ended up with a strong Avadon, with myself as Keeper. Which wasn't quite how I envisioned this particular character behaving; he's a justice-oriented paladin type who believes that laws should apply to everyone equally, from the lowest born serf to the highest dukes of Kellemderiel or the emperor of The Kva.)
  12. I was too. Although by the time my character had to choose, there were other reasons for him to go against Avadon (namely, the injustice committed in Khalida's case, as well as some of the questions raised by Yoshiria regarding Avadon's abuses of power)
  13. Ah, yeah, what threw me off was the way the bubble was set up. I think the one we have has several bubbles set into the body, as opposed to just one on top.
  14. If you wanted to be really, REALLY old-school, you'd do that with a spirit level - or even a T-square. (Or *is* that a spirit level? Doesn't look like the one I have, but I guess things have changed in the carpentry trade since my grandfather's time.)
  15. I've been noticing too that there are issues with the quest sequencing - the biggest indicator for me was when Dedrik talked about the breeze in Dharam "blowing the filth from the Corruption off us" when the previous mainline quest was in the Contested Lands. Alcander's side quest is definitely in keeping with his character. I did wonder why, if the Eliades were as incompetent as he claimed on our first trip to the area, he was so interested in getting his hands on their wealth, but I suppose that can be put down to his general philosophy of "if I want it, it's mine; if it's not nailed down, it's mine; if I can pry it loose, it's not nailed down."
  16. I don't go to many movies, but I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought the goblin king scene in TH1 was cringe-worthy. Hello, Peter Jackson, there is such a thing as taking too much artistic license...
  17. And even then you want to make sure to have AoE wands, scrolls and (if possible) abilities.
  18. And when you do, check the walls before wasting your energy on the turrets.
  19. I think I decided that right after meeting him for the first time. Hard not to, really, when he comes off as the epitome (or nadir?) of a snob.
  20. I knew I wasn't the only one thinking this 8D
  21. To prove that they're one of the people who needs a high five in the face with a chair, obviously. Or that they're related to Alcander.
  22. I didn't bother to wait, just headed down to the bank and got myself a new one today. And as annoying as mandatory phone authentication is, I have it for both my Google account and my bank's web branch. Better safe than sorry.
  23. THIS. So much. Even when I have two shamans in my party, I find it hard to build either of them for offensive spells just because of how underpowered I know they'll be.
  24. Junk bag, definitely. I hate having to constantly drop items before/during battle and pick them up afterwards to avoid encumbrance penalties.
