  1. She does have a snippy, hoity-toity attitude. (Kind of like a certain Hand... wonder if they're related by any chance...)
  2. I tend to give the self heal scarab to my sorcerers, since Tinkermages can summon healing pylons if they're powerful enough. Well, not till later, it's true, but that's my excuse. (It works as long as I have any combination of the following: Group Heal scrolls, a shaman, healing potions/items/food for everyone.)
  3. Because it's fun! -springacres, who was going to say "Because he's Alorael" before Nightwatcher beat her to it.
  4. Oh, G1 is definitely still playable and still fun -springacres, who spent part of her weekend playing through the demo instead of working on her English paper
  5. Apple is too, actually. I replaced my old MacBook last year because its chipset couldn't run any OS later than Snow Leopard. If I'd kept it, I might be running into backwards compatibility issues already.
  6. True, the sprites aren't all that different, but in G1 and G2 the graphics have a very retro/80s games feel to them, complete with less realistic colors and limited shading. Also, neither of those games had a junk bag for the PC to store useless items in. (None of which are drawbacks that would be worth an overhaul from my perspective, but I can see where Jeff might feel the need to do so.)
  7. There are other factors that can balance this out, but..
  8. Or like the ones in A:EftP - easy to use, but VERY easy to forget where you'd left them
  9. You know, boats for Avadon 3 might make sense if the focus turns out to be Svorgald. Although the map completionist in me agrees that it would have been nice to have a boat for exploring the Kva Riverlands and Troezen in Ava2.
  10. This is probably the best reason to save money, actually... that and potions/scrolls.
  11. Wishing English papers could write themselves.

  12. Or enough game time with the PC for a believable romance to develop. (I felt that was the real drawback with Ava2's romance arc, not enough game time with Silke/Rainer before they got kidnapped for me to really grasp how my characters might feel about them. I felt the scout character was decently fleshed out for what appearances they did make, however.)
  13. In V2, one of the rebels near the Remote Tower in Blackwood is named Elspeth. Also, someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't believe the name Miranda appears in King Lear; rather, isn't she one of the main characters from The Tempest? (Cordelia is a name from King Lear, though)
  14. I always thought it was "Pit-Bred" not "Pit-Brad"? But yes, there are a number of cultural references and jokes in SW games. (And this is from someone who's only played A:EftP, Nethergate: Resurrection, Ava1 and Ava2, plus a couple demos.)
  15. You probably left the Decaying Border area at some point. That automatically makes you too late to save Ibu.
  16. ...and if I hadn't been so brain-dead from studying, I probably would have thought of that too Yeah, it is quite surprising how easy some of those are. Especially flattering Protus; you'd think a Dharamite judge and Heart of Avadon would be a bit jaded and tired of flattery by now. I was expecting my superior for this game to be a bit more like Miranda in Ava1, or even Callan. Not an open, friendly type like Protus.
  17. From what I've seen and heard, this is correct, except for one thing: [spoileralt=Fixed location typo.]Done Yatsua, Deniz, and Monitor Sabre quests — (4,21) >= 6 and (4,29) >= 6 and (10,27) >= 6) For Yutsua, follow the quest line until you drive off Drake Khremess. For Deniz, follow the quest line until you kill the mercenaries in the Riverlands. (Both Yutsua and Deniz are in Rockridge Keep, and you must report back to them for completion.)[/spoileralt]
  18. Ah, I was probably thinking of NPC drakes when I assumed summoned drakes had Circle of Fire then. Thanks for catching that
  19. Ooh, I would love to see this for Avadon 2 just for the interesting chitchat between NPC party members
  20. Interesting! Neither of my shaman PCs are summoner types (they're both more healing/buff oriented characters) but this is good to know anyway. Triumph - yup, all animal summons have activated abilities. I was disappointed to see Drake only gets Cone of Fire though; didn't it have up to Circle of Fire in Avadon 1?
  21. Good idea. Perhaps this could be used in other ways, too? I know there's an option to report him to Heart Callan as a spy (which she brushes off), but if he's getting messages from the Tawon - even unimportant ones - well, a loyal Hand might feel obliged to report that, at least.
  22. Coming down with something that feels like a cold, myself. And colds for me usually end up in sinus infections and post-nasal drip...
