  1. I'd appreciate this SDF thing to reset it 'cause my saves are edited or in the last part of the game when you can't get back to Avadon :-) sorry I'm not much into computers. As a simple alternative I could start a new party. For now I loaded the original resources folder and dropped the improved version of the Deluxe Editor in it. Waiting for further instructions :-)
  2. Sorry, I was wrong writing points in the message not in practice. The 5 points you correctly talk about are all there for each character as I meant to write. I confirm options disappeared regularly after the requisite number of times and I don't see them now. This is the full example (deluxe editor) Sevelin is now level 18 with strenght 38 Dexterity 28 Intelligence 24 Endurance 25 so the first option worked battle shield level 8, melee training level 8, second wind level 8 are due to normal battle points, so second option didn't work Then archery training 5 path of the blade 3 war cry 0 third option didn't work. On the other side, main character (a sorceress) has a hell of a devastating upgrade :-) level 18 strenght 23 dexterity 25 intelligence 39 endurance 24 worked firebolt 13 ward mastery 13 daze 13 worked lighting wind 7 focus mastery 7 arcane blessing 3 ice storm 5 magical mastery 5 arcane curse 3 searing spray 3 cloud of confusion 3 worked (used this option only once) When you say there's no explanation I could reload the original resources folder and try the editor again to see if there is a software problem of some sort in my computer. What do you think?
  3. The names appeared and I clicked on them and the procedure went on regularly, only the effects were missing. So the deluxe editor did not work with Shima and Sevilin, and yes again the party did not use the other editor or the deluxe one before. I used it at first with the first option and points were added to the five characters. Then I waited to further use the editor the moment I placed all the regular battle points to fill the basic skills (i.g. battle shield level 8, melee training level 8, second wind level 8). Only after this step I used the deluxe editor to put the 5 points and raise the levels from 8 to 13, but it worked only for the other three characters, not for Shima and Sevilin. Then I tried the other two points options of the editor, which worked well for the other three characters and again not for the warriors.
  4. The party had some points missing the first time I tried the light editor, then I checked the strong editor with a new party and it missed to add all points in three categories to Sevilin and Shima (ok for the rest of the party). Having both editors installed may cause the problem? (didn't try to use both of them with the same party). Sevilin was there, Shima wasn't.

    Torment

I use some of the "helps" you can find in Strategy Central sticky topic, otherwise I doubt I could make it on Torment. But I'm working on it, I mean getting experienced to the point I can get rid of tricks.

    Torment

The fact she has a name is the detail that brought me to think she could be more important but you confirm there's no evidence for this... I'll keep looking for some hidden something to reveal... :-)

    Torment

Ok, thanks. There's one more thing: which role plays Heart Jarvina in game. She is the one you meet only once in Avadon's library (upper library I think)and seems to me the only character being not involved in any further action or saying something useful. I ask because eventually I missed something about her, a quest or else.

    Torment

I played the game on Normal and Hard, now playing first quests on Torment (Dhorla Woods). It's not that harder than I hoped, one thing I don't like is that foes are harder but there's no more of them than before. This apart, there's still a lot of items (bit less than other levels but too many to me) otherwise a significant lack of shoes for Nathalie... blessed sandals you take them till the end of the game and I feel this is poor comparing to other characters footwear. Still I enjoy Torment level because I play for the first time on the rebels side and answer in the worst possible way to any question :-)
  9. Understood. My fault I didn't know the difference of meaning between "wand" and "stave", but I guess some other non English mothertongue players don't, so perhaps it still may be a good idea to write somewhere "one hand" and "two hands"?
  10. It's only few weeks that I play the game so my experience is far to be complete, but I think I learned this: Shima needs a good balance of Dexterity and Strenght, Sevilin mainly needs Strenght, Intelligence for both Nathalie and Jenell, but the ladies also like Endurance (the first) and Dexterity (the second one). The right mix improves the hitsand it is different for each character. This mean that it is not a good idea to put all of the points in one skill, e.g. an extra strong Shima is less powerful and effective than a strong Shima with much Dexterity.
  11. Sorry I didn't read the post before, thanks! Torment will be... more than hard :-)))
  12. I won most of the medals but "Heart of Avadon" (secret medal), what is it?
  13. Beloch, sure, thanks to remind me. I also appreciated the Bucklet of Agility, for it's really lightweighted, when you add a Dexterity improvement Shima (or anybody else) can carry a light shield with +2 Dexterity and 10% protection, it's great. One thing I noticed is that wands are not signaled to be one hand or two and this is unconfortable when you have some of them to scroll in the inventory. After a while I noticed 5 lb wands are one hand and 6 to 8 wands are two hands but at first glance they look all the same, may be a good idea to write it somewhere.
  14. That was it, thanks! After your suggestion I remind I already have been through that quest with my first party, I'm aging :-)
  15. :-) I supposed so. I found the other switches, including the one of the changing shape statue that drove me mad for a while. Now, I am close to end the game for the third time and I still find enemies that I can't reach: this is in Kva Lands (using the showmeall trick), to the south and southwest, two separate groups of red points... Maybe I missed a quest but I can't figure out which is the character... I know, I'm not getting mad, I already am :-)
  16. Beraza Pits, Zhossa liar, Nathalie quest: after getting Nathalie's message I noticed there is a secret switch against liar's external wall, back entrance, where the little islands with bridges are, but there seems to be no possible way to reach it... ?
  17. I agree this is an author's choice and I didn't mean to question it, only meant to express my point of view: you get to join Redbeard after many demonstration of loyalty, after your report in Redbeard chambers says you are loyal and skilled, at this point you are, and you expect to fight with him and for him and nothing happens, so I felt a bit "bag snatched". But it's not serious after all there will be a second chapter of the adventure and who knows what Jeff will think up :-)
  18. It's hard to do but you can defeat the mage concentrating on B. (I presume you talk about Moritzy "rebirth", when B. decide to "give a chance to the scum"). Concentrate on B. Once you knock B. back to hell the Mage simply disappears. To do this I had to keep Moritzki and the summons quite busy, so I also summoned pets and used a lot of the Wands of Calling to do this. When you are able to block Moritzki far against a wall and the summons too, then you can attack B. with all you've got, and defeating him you also defeat the "spiritual zombie" of the Mage :-) PS: Jenell's Earthquake and single Spirit Claw are extremely useful to knock back the summons and the Mage, as Shima's and Sevelin's knockback blade skills.
  19. True :-) but I feel the adventure lacks of some sort of epic last battle (loyally speaking), you know, fifty well matched invaders from the Farlands against the party, Redbeard and Callan... that might have been a nice place to be :-)))
  20. In the loyalist last part of the game, when the party decide to join Redbeard, go downstair and fight the invaders, you expect to fight side by side with the Keeper and Hand Callan to free Avadon, but nothing happens. I am disappointed about this. What do you think?
  21. On the last level but one from the bottom there is a closed gate with its wheel on the other side. Can't find how to get there. I'd much appreciate a hint.
  22. To me you can be right about the first point, I was close to the end of the game when I realized I totally missed the quests in Zethron liar because I ignored the existence of a specifical character. On the other side it's fun to miss something here and there and I enjoy to ask here when in doubt or worse ;-) PS example: in wretchen lands, fortress basement, there's a double gate just after the first double gate, that of the wolves, that won't open, even after I got the two keys from upstair... how is it? Thanks.
  23. Thanks for checking this Turtle, I appreciate that. By the way I dismissed the superpowered party and enroled a new one. I guess one time +5 levels on basic skills is enough to be confident on hard/torment level, more than that may cause the game become of little interest (sorry for my English).
  24. @ Turtle Maybe "superpowers" can modify the game, maybe unexpected events are under control? It happened to me with the strong editor, I killed Neray the smuggler in Wretch lands, while she was supposed to flee through the trapdoor. The trapdoor won't open. Perhaps this is not relevant but I had to point it out. Even if the passage under there is blocked this event seems to modify the game, because it is likely the battle in Jereth Deeps with Neray will not take place. Was this event forknown?
