  1. Shem Krey: Randomizer directions are correct, it seems to me impossible to miss the lost soldiers when you go west (north-west) immediately after entering the area. They are against a stone wall and there's a fireplace too, left of you there's the river. It's a couple of male scouts with blades and a chief female with a bow. All this is before crossing the bridge.
  2. @FnordCola: but have you seen the prices? Charon was much cheaper. That woman could play a main role in Jaws (not the eaten girl).
  3. You can spare or fight a bandit in Sevilin's quest, and another one in Jenell quest (the one who wish to flee and leave Shaman Theresa). I wish in Avadon II one could burn down the trading post just outside Vebeaux and its greedy new owner.
  4. It would be useful to be able to write notes in game, of course I wrote some information with a pen and a sheet of paper in few circumstances, and in others you are able to click in the lower part of a text screen to store it in the Journal (as for directions to avoid patrols going back to Castel Vebeaux). However, I found some places similar to each other (Dhorla Stead and Goldrag for instance) and this confused me more than once. Being allowed to write names of minor characters related to places brief descriptions in game would have shortened idle times and avoided some mistakes.
  5. The Duke stated it clear, when spared he would try again and again to ask around for a commitment against Avadon. So he did, as reported after the end of the game, as I spared him in one playthrough to know what might happen. He said he was no traitor and always have been loyal to his people, the same you could say about the Lord, except he did'nt care about his people but to his realm independance and personal power. Point is each main character in game have his/her reasons, that overall sound good when you look at things in their perspective. So it's not much a matter to decide who's right but it is your privilege to enforce your will and way of looking at things.
  6. When you walk close to bushes some words appear on screen, then a passage opens near the path you came from at first (coming from Jenell prison), at least that's what I remember.
  7. Rumours say there's a hidden superpowered rat with two slashing tails in first bookshelf from the right entering the Library (main floor). Well, no, I'm sure it's not there
  8. Stunning Bash worked very few times in my normal/hard/torment and cheats enabled playtrhroughs but with the "ice blue firing menace", where it worked in the beginning of the long fight and stunned it for three turns, this happened every time. I agree it does however much more damage than a normal hit, but Harmstring is my favourite strike. Not sure but I think to remember SB worked in different crucial fights as with D.G. and with B., even if only once.
  9. Remember a trading post reluctant keeper in Dhorla Stead? She was full of anger to hands of Avadon and refused to trade until the party intimidated her, and still she maintened her pride (I liked her behaviour, by the way).
  10. The owner of the clothes boutique, she's snob. For sure she eats only mushrooms.
  11. I found cakes only in Moritzki Tower I think (sorry for spelling, will never learn this name, it sounds Polish).

  13. This is a question I couldn't answer by myself; when the front member of the party collects, say, health potions along the way and collects more than 10 I would give some of them to other party members but I don't know how to do that.
  14. Can't stand carrots, really. Maybe a duck babe who attacks enemies with... with whatever ducks do eat.
  15. ... is Bargha's Arena contests in Avernum 6. It's really upper class fight, Gladiator feeling, hope there will be an Arena in Avadon II.
  16. I did when I was younger and I learned languages at school. The most stressing thing in speaking another language, rather than reading it, is when you have a large vocabulary of terms in your language but a considerable smaller one in the other language, so you slow down talking to choose the right words, then you become embarassed, and a conversation presume you want to understand someone elses words, so you need to concentrate both on your words and his/hers, this may not be easy. That's why I say it is much easier to read another language than speak it.
  17. I see, so it possible to see enemies in other areas and other quests when they are on the same level, thanks. Same thing in Angevine fortress.
  18. It is the first time I use the "showmeall" feature in Avadon basement and to my surprise there is a lot of red points to the East. Have the awful sensation I missed a battle down there... when there's a secret switch or else to reach them, where is it (please!)?
  19. I think your last line answer your first question :-) than we might agree on that. Due to my lack of English knowledge you misunderstood about the languages I speak, I wanted to say that when the international language to communicate were Chinese or Portoguese I would have learned them. Actually, I read Italian, French, German and English. Speaking is way more difficult. But not to avoid your question, that was a strange one to me because it was a bit patronizing, or however this is my impression. When I'm wrong, please let me know.
  20. I meant to give useful information for those that like me are Italians and play Avernum... to answer your strange question: I can read English enough to communicate as it is the international language to do that, and I like to communicate. If it was Chinese or Portoguese I'd be able to read in those languages as well. But when I come to instructions it would be just silly to read them in a language that is not mine, when the alternative is at disposal. I guess you would do the exact same in my place :-)
  21. I found this original walkthrough in my language, not a translation, and it is quite precise and useful for the Avernum players from Italy :-) http://multiplayer.it/soluzioni/76081-av...i-perderci.html
  22. I noticed there's lot of runestones you find in the game, maybe more you can possibly use; also there's no chance to use the forge with bracelets, bows, razordisks, pendant and rings. I suggest to make this possible, characters shall be more efficient without change any item's feature.
  23. Mike: there's the Editor you can use, I did on Torment after Normal and Hard levels were too boring fights, and killed Redbeard without fighting the hidden monsters, that means - before - he gets the immunity. That totally satisfied my adolescent power fantasy :-)
  24. Wretches seem the best choice for the whispering role :-)
