  1. Urgh. When he's so tough I wonder why is the party/character allowed to fight him only when about level 2 ? I mean there's no choice, you are asked to immediately decide what to do with him, can't reconsider the matter, this sounds odd when you think you can go back "later" to some other tough foes (i.e. the Blue boss).
  2. All right, thank you. Blademaster will then get back later with higher strenght and dex levels and supplies of Fire wands. By the way, I can't remember about a "Ghorz", unless he was that wretch prisoner I never fought (he's so naive I couldn't think of killing him).
  3. In Jereth Deeps with a singleton (Editor partially enhanced) Blademaster, ogres quest completed, trying alone to fight the Blue menace. He's stucked because the big servants manage to exchange health with the dragon and no physical attack seems to be strong enough to weaken even one of them (there are two active for the time being). So the Blademaster tried ice wand, wand of venom, crystals, but no way to solve this empasse. He barely managed to retreat and went back to Zethron's liar (thanks to Teleport scarab). I know Sorceress is pretty smart and efficient against the big servants but I ask you: there's something else Blademaster could try alone to defeat the servants instead of give up the singleton and take the Sorceress in the fight?
  4. Redbeard can do something Chuck Norris could not, that is to die and return to life (but only if he wishes so, 'cause downstair he feels very confortable, it's the demons which urge him to go back to Avadon). Sure you have found the secret switches and related beasts... ? One important thing is to open those cells as soon as you can, engage the beasts with the best you've got and keep Redbeard busy until he becomes easier to weaken, distract him, slow him down with every trick you have, including Jenell beasts, Wand of Calling Shadowalker doubles or fingers in the eye, anything.
  5. Yes, that's what happened with singleton Blademaster, and did not happen with the party. I am talking about two different playthrough I am playing, the first with only one character, the second with a full party. First time in Beast Woods for both teams. What surprises me is the strange "behavior" of the area, on same situation, in two different games and degree of difficulty. This supposed to be bug doesn't affect the game, it's just something odd to report and makes me curious of a solution or logical explanation.
  6. Now beginning Beast Woods area, singleton Blademaster game on Normal, got the Ogre quest, immediately after he followed the path to the left of the house, passed the rats house as usual, he met three Khemerian assassins then the path closed. I walked the same path this morning with a regular party on Torment and there were no Khemerian assassins and the path didn't close. Trying to understand what happens: with the singleton Blademaster I used no written cheats since the beginning of the game, on the other hand he wears some special items from the Editor (bow, cap, shoes, scarabs). The party on Torment au contraire don't use cheats or any special items. I wonder what is in this scenario that could have made the difference. PS: I mean morning here in Italy :-)
  7. Thanks, good to know. There's a couple of characters I simply can't stand and she's in pole position.
  8. How did you manage to get Calantha killed? (She's the greedy merchant outside Castel Vebeaux, isn't it?)
  9. She may not give you further information next time you would need them, but I am not !00% sure about that. I killed the demon on my second visit to her and she called me a thief, but this was after she gave me the information I needed.
  10. I see :-) and I presume that in Avadon the fact a character can use self healing or potions while a foe (often) cannot raise his health could unbalance fights... ?
  11. Redbeard may be grown up in a farm in Holklanda and with the rage of an abandoned child and the talent in his genes, he conquered his realm. He may be Dheless lost brother.
  12. With regard to "realism", the game might be more realistic if each character and each foe could loose attack points in proportion with the health and vitality (the latter only for characters) loss during the fight. I.e. if so, a foe with half of his health left would strike much weaker, and the same for the character. But I am not able to hypothisize in which ways a method like this could change (good, bad?) the game.
  13. This is a pretty nice effort :-) I'd like to contribute reminding there's a guy in Avadon Fortress dungeon that was imprisoned in some ice because he tried to kill Redbeard, don't remember the year he was imprisoned but you can easily find it out because he reports that, while the party says which is the current year.
  14. I found mother salamander in Shavon quest has an higly impredictable behaviour (on Torment with a level 8 party); it occurred to my party to be killed more than once with a significative difference in the power of her bites and frequency. I mean sometimes she stuns then bites, sometimes she bites two times without stunning, in a single fight she even bites two times a character and a third time another one. It's a mess in terms of planning a strategy. Her "sons and daughters" bite hard too but they are not the real difficulty, using Jenell's Spirit Claw (8+1) in the beginning of the fight, and also they behave always the same way.
  15. I killed the Huntress before getting the Huntress quest, then I met Gavin, so he first gave me the quest, then he acknowledged it was over and gave me directions to the Castle, all in the same dialogue box. I think at least this part of the game has a structure you can't possibly get stucked.
  16. I'm now on Torment, first time without Editor and/or cheats to win that last medal... Yvner didn't suffer of harder conditions, but it took me a serious memory effort to remember where the enemies were to anticipate and prevent his moves. I.E. I managed leave him behind first wolves gate, while the Party killed them. However, it is possible to avoid interferences if you tell him to stay inside the cell, same option as for Ryozo.
  17. I didn't, the common attitude to stay in front despite to their power was all that I wanted to underline, and yes, Yvner is rock solid, even if he stucked my party for minutes on that hidden switch path just after the many wolves, so he won the title "stupid" :-)
  18. I hate stupid people like him, Vinvella, Yvner and that commander in Sevilin quest, they wanto to lead all the time but are unable to defend themselves, then you even get a reprimand when they die. That is not acceptable.
  19. When you are in Incubus company with a level 5 party, as you reported, I think you are a good player with some even better strategy. But point is that at that low level every fight may be really hard, too hard I believe, and your vitality suffers of the unusually low power of your Party. It would also depend upon which game are you playng (normal, hard or torment?). In the end I agree with Lilith when she says there's enough vitality potions in the game... when the game is played with a Party at the "right" level compared to the hardiness of the quest.
  20. Lilith @ Agree it is difficult say if the attempt to help Redbeard affects the decision about promotion, but I received the Hand and the Heart promotion in different playthroughs, also when I tried to help SW, then I changed my mind and joined RB).
  21. Master 1@ Absolutely, wanted to write: about one fifth of the written value is what you get selling the item, as came out from a quick calculation :-)
  22. Correct. I apologize I missed to specify the den I was referring to is JD one, that is her main one. Even with the weapons found there I think: she sells weapons, she should have a very good one for herself, only a matter of logic, hidden with other weapons or on her instead of Smoky Greaves.
  23. According to (my personal) logic there should be a hidden place where Neray stores the weapons she sells to Wretchen. I wonder if there is a secret switch I missed so far. I know, there's that hidden place between the walls of that fortress, only disturb me a little there's no arsenal in her den :-)
  24. Each and every valuable item has a value written on it; this is approximately one fifth of the money you will get selling it. Items like paper, bowls etc. don't have any value written on them so you cannot sell them. The value of an item (or the absence of value) along the way you can verify in the "on ground" window that is inside your Inventory.
  25. There's a new item or maybe I forgot about it... is that a crab claw?
