  1. Excuse me, Lilith, but you must have misinterpreted my paragraph there. Of course it would never come to my mind to pirate a game and thereby undermine a company, especially an independent Developer. Not even speaking of the ethical and legal issues that entail such behavior. I have to say I'm even a bit shocked that you read that into my sentence English is not my native language and I'm not quite sure of the right phrasing. I would be 'Demoing' a new title, and if I decided I like it, wait for the indicated - and hopefully for further games also to be expected - price drop of a new game in a comparatively short period of time. I know 'Demoing' is not the right word... maybe you or some other User could be so nice and help me out here with the right wording? Much appreciated, thank you in advance
  2. Quote: On August 17, 2011, Spiderweb Software (http://www.spiderwebsoftware.com) will bring Avadon: The Black Fortress to Steam at a new low price of 9.99! We celebrate our first partnership with the Steam platform and hope to bring as many newcomers to Spiderweb's 16th full length RPG as possible. As an additional incentive the game will have a 10% discount during the and launch week! I have to be honest here and say that I am really feeling a bit let down by the pricing decision. Half a year after release such a massive price-drop! Yes I know, I got to play earlier than other people, but still something in my head tells me never to buy a game at release again from Spiderweb Software and instead 'aquire' it through other sources instead. If I like it I can then go ahead and churn out some money after a couple of months, when it's available for 40% of what was orignally asked for. Seeing that Spiderweb Software has moved a couple of steps away from their original core audience (dumbing down, Skill-Tree, easier & more 'accessible') I'm starting to wonder if paying major bucks for - at least for me personally - minor enjoyment is really worth it. I have to stress this is no trolling or hate post. This is just my personal opinion and how I feel right now at this moment, written down on (virtual) paper, 5 Minutes after reading the press release. Might be after a good night's sleep I feel different. But I strongly doubt that.
  3. Hey there! I am beginning my journey in Avadon (or rather I am at the end of the demo and waiting for the key) and was wondering what stats I should level up. As you only get 1 point per level up I have a hard time deciding what to level how often. Right now I put all points for melee chars into Strength, except 1 for Endurance. For the magic user I put all points into Intelligence. Are the melee fighters (Shadowwalker and Blademaster both) in need of any points in Dexterity? Most of the time they are in melee but they tend to get some shots of with their respective ranged weapon before the melee begins. And how often do you recommend to level up Endurance? As for the magic user (Sorceress in my case): only Intelligence or also a couple points in Endurance / any other stat? Thanks for your tips in advance and have a nice day
  4. Yeah May 2nd is confirmed now through the press release from Spiderweb Software. Damn, I can't wait until it's Monday now And on Monday I probably will go mad, waiting for the next Weekend so that I can finally start playing ;-)
  5. For the ones too lazy to use Babelfish Quote: I l' did not finish, for the moment j' there played approximately 60h. It starts gently but becomes increasingly interesting. At the point where j' in c' follows; is a large snap and not to note, I highly advise it with the fans of Baldur' S Spoil 1, because certain areas or zones there of which to strongly think (an area having several zones and the play contains several areas). C' is a indie and it n' the same regularity of quality does not have as the best large budgets, however quality is often high and on many points, combat, exploration, secrecies, searches, stories and dialogues, etc And to note companions who are well developed. C' attention; is only in English, only text. Concerning the c' difficulty; is far d' to be as basic as all RPG blockbuster and for the engagements I highly advise you d' to use the level of Hardware difficulty. Concerning the graphs, they are very clearly improved compared to the preceding plays of the same developer, and I advise to test them with a definition not too high for better appreciating them in more close-up. Ca helps well for l' environment at the beginning and one appreciates l' better; improvement and the general quality of the graphs which is much better than in the preceding plays of the same developer. On the whole, within sight of what j' played, enormous, not to pass to side. Thanks for sharing your review, can't wait to finally play (Windows user here)!
  6. I noticed that RPG Watch is listing the release for May 30th (http://www.rpgwatch.com/show/release?release=2) and I wanted to know if they are wrongly informed regarding the release or if Spiderweb Software pushed the release back from early May to end of May? Does anybody got inside informations they can share with us? :-)
