  1. It is possible to fight the pylons by sending your main fighter in and then keeping archers/casters out of the attack range. But yeah, you do not need to fight any of the pylons.
  2. Be forwarned, Jeff rarely takes suggestions.
  3. You need to get Solberg to give you the quest before you can get this. Once you have this, leave Fort Emerald from the north, head west, and hug the northern wall. You should find it. Demonslayer is a bit disappointing. It's a good defensive weapon, but offensively you can do much better.
  4. I don't know then, perhaps it is a bug. I believe you can still get through the tunnel without doing this quest, however.
  5. Please do not double post. Did you play around with the lever outside the hut? Experiment with it in both positions.
  6. Please do not double post. To enter the Darkside Loyalist lair, you need to enter from Erika's Tower itself, the west side of the river. You will not be able to get there until almost the end of the game.
  7. The most I have ever found is five as well. Ever hear of the term red herring?

    Can't delete demo

Restart your computer, try again. If that does not work, open the active programs window and shut off whatever programs look like they should not be open.

    Can't delete demo

Could you explain what you have tried and what message comes up?
  10. I believe so. The best way to get functionality questions answered is to set up a short test script and test it yourself.
  11. Is that above X's place? Those doors cannot be opened. If you sold the research, I am afriad your only recourse is to open an earlier save file.
  12. It's the house in the northweat corner by the river. Get close to the walls and such.
  13. Quote: I'm planning to make a huge scenario Maybe I misunderstood. Care to clarify the above statement quantitatively?
  14. Quote: Originally written by megamad: Well, I'm planning to make a huge scenario, a continue to Exile 3, but in order to reconstruct many of the original areas, I need maps of Exile and the surface, which I don't have. So, does anyone here have these maps and can send them to megamad @ walla.co.il? Thanks. I really recommend trying something a LOT smaller for a first effort.
  15. In such a trainer "plot" becomes filler, only making the thing unnecessarily longer. I don't go in the HLPM for plot. I go in to for a tool like purpose.
  16. Quote: And then what. She reacts to that and you ask her for backup before you enter the place again. Does she simply say "take 500 men and scare the hell out of the villain," or does she want you to do something before she gives you control over the army? the place is at war, so just assigning you as commanding officer seems foolish. Generally, adventurers are good at stealthy things. Now having backup seems reasonable to do heavy fighting against an opposing army. You could have someone else command you know with the task of the forces supporting your objective to defeat the villain. I would avoid an intermediate quest. It usually just serves as filler. As for the mayor's reaction, it depends on the personality of the mayor and the relation with the mayor to the villain.
  17. We have a Blades chat, read the post on the Blades of Avernum forum. Blades of Exile is acceptable there also.
  18. They couldn't use light sources anyway. I'm afraid that would not be possible even using the item. A possible solution to the glowing thing could be to make a separate monster and swap the two when the item is used. Store the HP and such in a variable or something.
  19. Worse comes to worst, leave for a bit and gain some levels and come back.
  20. Yeah, sounds like you are trapped. I suggest reloading an earlier save and e-mailing Jeff about the problem. Also, I believe you killed a Drake, not a Dragon.
  21. Pyrog is dead. His lair, on the other hand, I seem to remember getting there by boat via the Northern Waters. It's been so long now that I cannot be sure.

It just moos once and resumes grazing." I don't like towns where only the important characters can be talked to and no one else can. Dikiyoba. I sort of agree. However, given a choice between a few well developed characters and lots of sort of developed characters, I would choose the former. Right now, we pretty much had neither. Personally I would rather wait another 2-3 weeks on a game releasing if it would have some built in interactive characters.
  23. Again, I do not believe so. The tests are there as an accessory.
  24. Getting past them will indeed get you to Sleater. I suggest haste/bless/shielding/augmentation before the battle. There is another way. From the start of the Honeycomb in Metris, head north until you find three stairways. I forget which one, but you want to continue heading north until you find a bunch of stairs in a row. Continue on that route to find Sleater.
  25. There isn't one, I believe. You should be able to find the four pieces of research, however.
