    I laughed...

http://www.losanjealous.com/nfc/perm.php?c=86&q=1 I just found this...interesting, especially with the picture.

  3. I remember talking to Shima about that in Avadon, then going on the quest with him and getting the exact same dialogue out there. Try talking to him in Avadon, and see if he talks oddly there too.
  4. Thanks for clearing this up. Not really a game-changing problem, but it nice to see that it's going to be fixed.
  5. Ever since I downloaded version 1.01, something wierd has been happening. I have waited to see if other people have experienced this, but no one has said anything about it. Also, my mom has the game on her computer, and when she downloaded v1.01, this did not happen to her. When I load a save game, I see this, on all of the files. http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=34p1baf&s=7 Not the same picture, but all of them are tinted that way. I don't understand it, and it doesn't seem to be interfering with my gameplay (that odd color change only seems to effect the save file pictures), but it is bothering me and I would like to know if anyone knows how to fix this. I also just downloaded a new version, just to see if it would change, and it has not.

    random venting

Maybe you could try a seeing psycologist or something. I don't know if there are any in your area or if your even open to the idea at all, but it could be considered. When my mom was younger, her mom (my grandma) didn't exactly treat her the best. From what she had told me, I don't think it had ever gotten to the level your talking about (but if it had, she probably wouldn't have told me), but she said that she eventually got really fed up with her, and went to see a psycotherapist. She learned that her mom wasn't actually intentionally trying to hurt her, but it was just the way she deals with things. I see my grandma occasionally, and even though she seems a bit distant from the family, what happened a long time ago hasn't seemed to sour their relationship to much. Also, I myself (with my family) have gone to see a psycologist. My sister is...a bit different from the rest of the family. And that would be an understatement. She and everyone else just don't seem to fit together at all. To make matters worse, my dad can get a bad temper sometimes, so before they had gone yelling at each other at the top of their voices into the middle of the night. Again, it never escalated to your level (I know this, because I was there, forced to listen to every word that blasted throughout the house), but it did get pretty bad. Even though my sister and dad still get in some bad arguments sometimes, things have gotten MUCH better since then. Maybe this isn't the option for you, but it may help just to consider it.
  7. My tactic when going through there was to just try to draw out those dang lizards one by one. If there were to many, I just gave up and reloaded. I still burned a lot of potions and scrolls going through there. I never ment to say that I didn't find the area challenging and fun, but that I didn't like the reward that came out of it. If you go through there at early levels and work your butt off and burn a lot of items, you expect to get something that at least partially makes up for that. If you go through at later levels, you would probably just look at the reward and go "Meh. If I would have done this sooner, that would have been more useful." And then you would sell it and not really mind that the reward wasn't all that great since it was a low level quest. But the thing is, those people who spend all that effort going through that place early (well, most of it. I still waited until later for some of it. Even then I found some fights challenging *cough*stupidshade*cough*) just deserve a little more for all the effort they put in.
  8. I did get the quest from her, though. I know that since it says that I have the quest in my quest list. That's why I'm confused, since I have the quest but can't find the door. Unless you are saying that I need a different quest in order to get into the stacks. EDIT: Hmm. I didn't see any stairs in the library. Must have missed them. I'll go check and see.
  9. I've been wondering about this, and since eye Leira was mentioned, I think I will ask my question here. I have the quest to clear the stacks, but the thing is, I cant find the stacks. Where are they? I'm pretty sure I've looked everywhere.
  10. Well, that helps. When I get the chance to redo my ability points in that forest (whenever I DO get there), do I also get a chance to replace my skill points? Cause that would help so much for my SW.
  11. THis is odd. My bladesmaster is doing quite a bit more damage than SW, even with backstab. It might be because he is using pole weaps, or it might be because my SW hasn't focused on the attacking abilities as much as the others, or it might just be because I haven't put all his stats in the right place. Could someone recomend the best placing of skill points for my SW?Right now its mainly in dex, but I have a nice amount in strength too.
  12. Sometime, it seems, if you press a at the wrong time, it either doesn't bring up the menu at all, OR it does brig up the menu, but you are unable to click on an ability. If that happens, and say, you press the abilities key, then the cooldown is activated, and you lose vitality, but nothing happens. Also, if you instead exit out of the screen, if you push a again, it will be like that. So if that happens, just exit out and let your turn pass.
  13. Not really sure what to do here, and would apprieciate a little advice on what to do. THe character that I am currently playing is going to want the pact strong, but will eventually (if he can) take out Redbeard. The thing is, I don't know what the outcome of this quest will have on the game. If I turn the commander in, he will of course be arrested, possibly killed. But I'm don't entirely think that the papers are real, and if I turn him in, I might be weakening the pact in some way. How does this quest effect the game? (btw, not looking for spoilers, just wondering what outcome of this quest has on the pact)
  14. It's easiest to do this with abilities that don't target, Like the shamans pet heal, or haste, or battle cries, summoning, and stuff like that. So try using targeting abilities during your actual turn, and then those non-targeting abilities for an extra boost at the end of your turn. I haven't tried it yet, but I wonder if it does work at all for targeting abilities.
  15. With my shadowwalker, I currently feel like using his razordisk instead of his sword. So I push W. It switches. The problem is, I keep on having to switch it back to the razor disk at the beginning of every battle, and this is annoying me greatly. I don't know if back to the sword weapon automatically between battles, but it definitely does it whenever I talk to someone (probably also when I look in my inventory, but I havent checked yet), or when I hit esc to save. Is there any way to get around this? Other than don't do anything between battles?
  16. After I finished this quest (my characters haven't left the demo area yet) I was really shocked on how puny the reward was. The weapon I got was so very much better then the one she gave me, AND it was barely worth anything. If I found the reward this bad this early in he game, there isn't much incentive to come back later in the game and do it wen its easier, since the reward would seem even more pathetic. I was really disapointed by the lack of awesome (or at the very least adequate) rewards received after I went through so much effort to get her her book while level six.

    Bribes!

I've never realized how FUN bribes are (when, of course, you are on the recieving end) until this game. You can accept bribes of some kind at almost every turn, it seems. I remember hating bribing people in past games, but having the npcs bribe you is so much more fun! Does this go throughout the entire game? Or somehow bite you in the end for being bribed to much?
  18. Thanks, that did it. SOmetimes I really get to hate trying to find these things. EDIT: Hey, I think I finally figured out something to make this much easier! If I drag the avadon pref thing into my dock, then whenever I want I can select open enclosing folder, and when I do that, it actually shows the preferences in the folder! Yay!
  19. I am getting really bothered by this.... occasionaly I want to make a backup of the preferences of the spiderweb games I have bought, so just in case something happens I don't need to send off for a new key. The only thing is, I have such a hard time finding them every time I look for them. I know that they are in my library preferences folders, and that I have to do a detailed search to find them, but I always forget what exactly to put. Sometimes I get lucky and remember, but most of the time it escapes me. Right now, I'm trying to find the avadon prefs since I had recently entered in the key, but I just can't find them. Also, even though I have a copy of my other games' prefs elsewhere, I can't even find them when I type in their name. Can someone tell me how (on a mac, of course), and step by step (for future reference when I forget), how to get to these dang preferences?
  20. This has happened tome many many many times while playing geneforge 5 and avernum 6, so it does not soley affect this game.
  21. If you want to see those text boxes again, so you know whats happening and whatever, just push t.
  22. Tunic: Like pants for your chest! Thank you so very much Jeff. You've just sold another game.
  23. I really only used a few disiplines with any frequency. First and foremost, there was adrenaline rush. That was so useful. My dualwielders were able to clear out most groups of enemies within a few turns while using this. Next, there was well aimed blow. You get one at the beggining, and then an upgraded version later on. I used the first one often, but once I got the second I transitioned into that. Can be quite good. And last of all, there was battle frenzy. But this one I used least of all. Adrenaline rush is good for short battles or a lot of weak monsters, but battle frenzy is good when the battle lasts for a while. Even then, I still use adrenaline rush a lot. But if you have a nice amount of the bladesmaster skill (I think it was that one), then once the battle frenzy wears off, you are able to use it again immediately,
  24. Stable things don't like to suddenly explode. I think other words might fit the A6 portal a little better.
  25. If the icon looks different, then it can stack. Skribbane gives a variety of bonuses other than just AP, so that's why it has a different icon. And it just so happens that you can get the REAL haste from items, and that gives just a haste, so the icon is different from skribbane. Some effects cant stack (wards, cloaks) but speed can. Also, battle frenzy isn't nearly as useful as it was in A5. It used to give you what skribbane gives you now. Now it just gives bonus AP. That's not bad, but it was better.
