  1. Geneforge is fun too, you might play the demos if you don't wanna pay for them but need time to go faster.
  2. Goldenking got my point. I used a lowercase "g" to designate something other than a supernatural deity. Uppercase "g", and I'm generally talking about the God of Abraham.
  3. Well, I already stated what makes sense. The problem is society is stupid, both the liberal minded and conservatives. Neither understands the other side because they are either unable or unwilling to put themselves in another's shoes. What makes sense here I believe I have already stated as well. We do whatever the potential purchaser wants us to. As far as I know, we are the main source of Jeff's advertisement. We not only help the potential customer by giving him all the information (s)he could ever want, but we help Jeff. How did Europe do their gay marriage stuff? Did they just tell the conservatives to go back to church and pass the law, or did they have compromises and stuff made?
  4. Philosophically, morals are controlled by whatever the individual deems to be god. To a loyalist, god is the shaper council. Their morals are to be submissive to anyone above you in this hierarchy and wisdom and temperament are highly valued. Those like Barzahl/Ghaldring set themselves as their god, and they value power and authority. Geneforge does fine with the morals built in the game.
  5. Ok, I'm glad to see your not as hostile as I had first perceived. I have no problem calling it "conservative friendly" or some variant. Its just getting the rest of society to do the same that is difficult. I've had ideas like this before, and they too regard homosexuality. Conservatives don't like gay marriage. Liberals are for gay marriage. I don't think the government should differentiate between hetro and homosexual couples. My idea was to change the legal word marriage to something like "union" and not recognize "marriages". Leave "marriage" to the churches, and the state should only see hetro and homosexual couples as a union. No legal mention of marriage should be possible, just unions. This would mean there are not "two separate but equal institutions", but one institution by the state, the union, so there would be no discrimination by laws (no jim crow for gays). I think if this word "marriage" were used for specifically sacred things, it would solve the issue between conservatives and liberals in this aspect of society. Plus, its just unfair hetros get joint income, and homos do not. I guess the other solution is take away any and all legal benefits from marriage, but I doubt people want that.
  6. And so, if someone asks about something, we should intentionally exclude information so the christian lobby groups will complain? This is ridiculous. It'd be much more considerate to a potential customer if we told them things which could be perceived as issues. Is it generally unnecessary? Absolutely! But its not always, and lets not be jerks to those that have very conservative tastes.
  7. Or perhaps they wanted it more stable, so they put in more crystals.
  8. In G1, there were a lot of ever-damaging areas. Does that mean he likes when the environment reduces his health points?
  9. Many levers are hidden behind things. If you can't find a lever for something, start searching where you can't see. Also, the lever in Kss-Urg's Valley is next to the door by the wall. There is no tree in the way, but the building and the angle you have to look. I just got past this on my first ever torment run through of any Geneforge game (Agent).
  10. All Jeff's games run on my computer (intel mac) just fine. The only one I haven't played in the original exiles and nethergate.
  11. Personally, I think Jeff never thought of any correlation between these people, but we are simply creating them. I think it is much more likely we are all just fanatics. The characters that are used from previous games are made quite obvious. In G2 (which I'm playing now), the servile which guards Belik's bridge is named Mekkan. This servile has no correlation with the G5 Mekkan. No Mekkan was in G3 or G4. Jeff just kinda reuses stuff from time to time.
  12. Well, if someone asks about the game being family friendly, these are things that can be pointed out. The game is not focused on any of these things, no, but if someone asks, then why not tell them? It just seems courteous to me. Groups such as the ESRB have their ratings based on an average family. The average family also doesn't care what the ESRB says. So, if one is asking, I'm assuming they're a bit more conservative than most. Since wine and ale in geneforge games can't do anything except be sold for cash, I didn't think it necessary to mention. To me, this game is plenty family-friendly. If it wasn't I wouldn't be here. But if someone asks, I'm going to tell them what possible things they might not like because this description is relative.
  13. Before all that editing, try shift-D, then type: clearallsects This may solve it a bit quicker.
  14. "Family-Friendly" is relative to each individual. If someone asks, it would be courteous to mention. There is a significant (though a minority) percentage of people that would consider homosexual relations unsuitable for the family. Why? They're ignorant. Plain and simple. This is coming from a very very conservative Christian. Homosexuality is common, and shielding people from it does not make it go away. As for the religious side of it (this post will most likely now be deleted), if your Christian, you should consider homosexuality a sin. Its in the bible, old and new testaments; there is no way around it. But, excessive drinking is an equal sin. Lying is an equal sin. Heterosexual lust is an equal sin. Oh wait, they're all equal sins! So, homosexuals are no more messed up than anyone else! Even with that said, to be courteous to the unthinking, lets mention the relation.
  15. If I were to make a serious post here, it would be about the natives reclaiming the caves, especially since they were meant to be used and then the populace is to go into hibernation. The Empire and Upper Avernum would still be there, but damaged by the amount of refugees/shortage of resources. After a time, the Empire and Avernum recovers, and peace between the three people is reached for a long time. Then I become un-serious again, and start to talk about how they begin to colonize the moon, and make it the new Avernum, but there is conflict with the aliens already living there.

  18. Two of the avernum graphics maybe show a bit more skin than you want, but only if your really conservative on what you want your kids to see. @CoIS In Jeffs games, the possibility of this is nothing, but, some families don't want to get into a conversation with their kids over homosexual relationships. So, I guess its less family friendly because it confuses the kid because it breaks the normality of his/her family. Then they ask a lot of questions, and the parents don't wanna answer those at that age. Should this be called less family friendly? No. Not in any way, shape, or form. And this is coming from a conservative religious freak. However, some people count it because they are ignorant.
  19. Your adventurers find a canister of create ornk in an old forgotten cavern and learn of the lost magic of shaping.
  20. Hidden for the sake of the random guy that doesn't want to know. Click to reveal.. Turn off the Pylons and it becomes easier. Also go talk to the Agent in the northwest corner to destroy the escape route in the east. Then everyone makes for a big charge and he dies easy.
  21. Yea! Ok, I'm trying to powergame a little as I go so I can get all the charms, so I'll use that to help get the cryoa's charm from alwan's stuff as well. Thanks!
  22. Is there anyway to get the Physician's charm and still remain a Trakovite? To get it, you must betray their liar, but doing that will make them all leave the cave/die, right? How can I achieve both. Note: If its the last resort, I wouldn't mind magically popping it into my inventory.
