Yes. I've played Geneforge 1-5 and Avernum 1-6. I like Jeff's style of level scaling.

I loved the skill tree (and really loved how the best items increased the skill tree stuff!), however I really disliked the lack of stat customization that is so prevalent in geneforge and avernum (avernum had way more though, it ended up being my favorite too). There are only 4 stats to put anything in, and on any character, only 2 are really useful (primary weapon stat and endurance). I'd like to have more to choose from in customizing characters. However, I realize that Jeff has moved into the iPad, so things like that might not be possible. "this isnt demon's souls, most games cant accomplish a really high level cap, because you need more/harder combat and traps and such for higher levels, so unless you want each game to take 5 years or want level scaling dont complain." I want level scaling. Specifically, I like Jeff's style of level scaling where you get less expirence for defeating low level monsters and higher expirence for defeating higher level monsters. This allows for effective grinding when necessary or desired, though the game can be built so that the grinding is entirely unnecessary. On torment, I like the fact that you can go grind if you really can't get past a point. If you go as a singleton, you'll need to be many levels higher to do the hardest quests (even though they're optional) and with a level cap you can't get past a certain point make things impossible. With a level cap, many challenges that the game can bring are no longer an option.

The best party I have found for A5 has one slith pole user, one nephil priest (with good bow secondary), and 2 mages. Generally, one of the mages takes tool use and the other trys for disciplines. The party of which I had the most fun was one Slith Priest and one Nephil mage. They got really strong individually and it kept the game fairly difficult throughout.

Found them! They were just hiding from me. While we're on the subjet, are the avernum ones in their data folders? Cause I can't find those either. Edit: Can I script the title pages? Like the text in the easter eggs and stuff like that? Or where can I read all the texts for each individual creature?

Ok, so I love Macs, but windows are cheap and so that's what I got stuck with for college. However, I have no idea how to use them. Where are the scripts located now? I can find the data with the pictures, but nothing labeled "scripts" like I'm used to.

Researched a bit and here are the best off-hand blades for you: "Flaming, Oozing, and Frozen Blades, the Radiant Soulblade, the Ghostly Blade, the Stunning Blade, and the Discipline Blade." - Slarty

Don't know the exact names, but the flame sword, the Ice sword, and the Oozing Blade (I know that one!) are great for dual wield, the Oozing Blade especially because of the acid damage.

I know the skills are capped at 8 or 4, but do the primary stats (top left corner ones) have diminishing returns after a point like in geneforge/avernum, or does it just keep giving you the same increases throughout?

Am I supposed to go to the Khemeriah (sp?) after making the dragon happy (I see four zones in the Kva/wretch lands) or am I missing something?
