  1. There's a Dispel Barrier spell in the Mage category. It needs 11 Mage Skill to use. I don't know who teaches it. In A5, Jeff put in some places that were unreachable, and he seems to have done the same thing with A6. I guess its supposed to make you feel like you havn't fully discovered everything.
  2. How exactly does one "eat"? I've been carrying around a bunch of food, but the game has never once prompted me to eat it. Does it just happen automatically, if I have food in my inventory?
  3. Quote: Your games' graphics aren't that bad actually.....they look like top-of-the-line games from 10 years ago

    Tantalizing Info

Me too. Open it up with something other then Internet Explorer, it worked for me. The names don't come sounds interesting. "Farlands?" That's just too corny.
  5. How old is your computer? My newer Vista needs the game files to be moved to another location for them to work properly.
  6. It was a little....underwhelming.
  7. Where exactly can I collect the mushrooms for the priest in the castle?
  8. Err, how do I change them? I accidentally put two Well Aimed Blows on my archer, but whenever I right-clicked them, I just activate them.
  9. you're just an attention hog, but then again, your problem probably merits more attention anyway
  10. nioca found it yesterday and sent it to me played all the demo the whole night, totally worth buying, although the sergeant at the beginning of the game kind of confused me with his safety concerns
  11. thing is, he doesn't read the forums, so whatever is said here will undoubtedly have little to no actual effect on his work progress
  12. well that isn't going to work because us newbies, ignorant of its actual purpose, will totally ruin this thread long before the day is up
  13. He has said he's going to remake A1-3 after he makes the "new game" so give or take two years. After that, he may update the Geneforge series, or another remake of Nethergate. The latter statement is pure speculation and is in no way a credible representation of what Jeff has said in the past. He's also said that he might make a prequel to Avernum 1, about the very, very first explorations of the underworld.
  14. Quote: Now, I'm not a regular to the forum. I don't know if the guy posting this last week was pulling mine and your legs. There hasn't been someone looking more or less official rebuking him though, so I figured it was gold enough. Well, keep in things two mind. 1) Jeffs answer was literally a single sentence, so he may have just said that because he was busy. 2) Jeff has put off releases before and has never been absolutely accurate with when predicts when the game will be ready, at least not in my 2 years here. "End of the month" might very well mean "Whenever these damn Emails stop asking me and I can get back to work." I have the emailed saved and can send it to you if you like.
  15. I Emailed Jeff and asked him the other day. He said it should be ready by at least by the end of the month.
  16. Jeff prefers selling games off his own site, to maximise profit. I'm afraid you're out of luck.

    Procrastination

I plan homework during school hours. For the average math paper, I've figured out that I can do 2 problems in the 4 minutes on my way to class, 3 if I don't have to go to my locker. English essay's are done on the bus, naturally. When I have study hall (I only have one after the schedule shift of the new quarter ), I plan 3 journal entries, a Spanish assignment, and a DBQ all during 40 minutes. I've yet to figure out my success rate. Been busy. () Research papers take a while to do, so I always make sure that I have the entire Sunday off when I get back to school to do the writing, the tri-board, and the research itself (sometimes in that order, believe it or not.) Chores are usually procrastinated by finding other convenient activities outside to do ("Hey look! It's that dude that text me a minute ago. I better go see how he's doing"), while other times I can sneak on the computer without being noticed. For instance, I was asked to put the dished into the dish washer a few moments ago, before my mom went to go pick up my grandma. It may have already been done, had I not found this topic to conveniently reply to. Appreciate it. Finally, to answer your question, pretty much all day.
  18. Oh, no no, if you don't want to control the creation, then just don't put anything into Intelligence at all, and the creation will act on its own during combat. Why would you want to do this, may I ask?
  19. There was an option in the old games, but the newer ones don't have it. Simply increasing the creatures intelligence by 2 will give let you control it in combat. (Also, I assume you mean "Turn the AI off" since turning it on would mean it acts on its own during combat?)
  20. Is the name of this scenario "Always on your day off", or is it just a coincidence you're doing the beta during february break?
  21. From a cannon perspective, it seems much more likely that the creation limit is due to your character always starting off as a weak apprentice/lifecrafter. There simply isn't enough time in-game for your character to develop your mental (not mental magic) skills to control more creations. Also, other Shapers have access to a plethora of other stationary resources that allow them to control and lead a larger army. Either way, Serviles are different. Their more like human slaves then creation. You can theoretically keep control of hundreds if their all "loyal" (disregarding the possibility that some of them might develop rebellious thoughts) to you. Regardless, its quite possible to hire other human outsiders as controls to help reinforce your command. Heck, its even possible to train serviles to keep serviles under control. It's all just a question of time and resources, both of which the PC has little of at his/her disposal. Edit: Ha.
  22. A Servile is capable of more then just mindless fist-fighting though. You can equip it with armour, weapons, even teach it to use magic. Quite possibly, you could have you own army of super-soldiers in the form of creations. Of course, then theres the issue of control, but thats a whole different discussion.
  23. terrestria really is a small place though compared to terrestia i mean, terrestria doesn't have like 160 area's like terrestia does although terrestria has very fine foods, i've heard that their fried ornk is wayyyyyy better then terrestia's i guess its cause they have the old graphic of ornks, you know, the one that looks like a pig and moos like a cow. those ornks are native to terrestria terrestria edit: sniped
  24. While it is never outright stated that there is a second continent in G1, the begining text states that you're traveling west to help some shapers settle a remote new colony, so you can get some practice in Shaping. The reason this "remote new colony" is the east coast of Terrestia is because the ending text of G1 states that you land near the new city of Dillame.
