  1. Neato. Thanks for putting in the effort Slarty!
  2. So I've been following column 3 of the first weeks. Like last time, I had quite a bit of trouble with day 1, and on all of the days I haven't been able to hit the minimum when maxing out even though I was able to do all the other pushups for that day. Does anyone know if I would get more benefit from doing column two instead of three?

  5. Congrats on the milestone! Mindless Approbation achieved!
  6. Economic Left/Right: -6.38 Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -2.46 I don't remember what my previous answers have been, but I think they were pretty similar to this.
  7. I was implying that if the group does it saturday it'll need to be in the evening (US timezones).
  8. I'm working until 7 EST on saturday, and will be unavailable sunday 7-9 or 9:30 EST sunday.
  9. I don' think Jeff could successfully sue claiming that the "in game" (for lack of better phrasing) character editor is his intellectual property. Plus, even if he wanted to sue, I'd bet the lawyers Square Enix could hire would be far superior and more numerous than the lawyers Jeff could hire. Edit: Sniped

  11. Going to a school were marijuana is widely accepted (I think the only reason it's against school policy is because it's technically illegal and also a fire hazard), and drinking is common, I find marijuana and alcohol to be pretty similar. Mild, and moderate use generally doesn't affect a person that much, but people who are heavy users suffer much more. Also, from what I understand, determining if someone is above the legal limit is very difficult because of how long marijuana stays in your system.
  12. So I did Day 1 today, but I couldn't do all the push-ups in the 11-20 group. I think it's a combination of me not being fully recovered from the initial test, and an intense game of pick-up soccer yesterday. I'm going to try the middle tier on Wednesday.

Cherry pie, the dark horse, yay!

Cherry pie wins, because you can get an excellent balance of sweet and tart that other fruits just can't match.
  15. You could/can, but the mods have respectfully asked people not to.
  16. After doing five warm-up pushups, then waiting one minute, I was able to do 22 pushups. I'll try to keep up with the workouts, but I can't guarantee anything. Should we have a check-in every Sunday or something, to see how everyone has improved? I still did more pushups than you.

  18. The area where I'm from really only has to worry about the occasional blizzard, but obviously those don't happen much this time of year. However, the effects can be felt for a long time. This year we had a warm February, then a blizzard that dumped 30 inches of wet heavy snow. Most people didn't have power for about a week, and 95% of the local cash crop was lost because the tree had already begun to flower. Not only that but the heavy snow broke off branches and it's estimated that it'll be two or three years until the crop is back up the levels it was at before. I also go to school in Colorado Springs, which is currently going through a disaster. More than 32,000 people have been evacuated, and looking at maps of where the fire has been, places I would recognize have been burned to the ground. It's a chilling experience seeing pictures of a place you call home 8 months of the year on the verge of being burned to the ground.

I'm one year older than Excalibur, but in the same grade as him in schooling.
  20. I think it's plausible that something will happen in six months since it's impossible to account for every variable, but it's unlikely to be the end of the world. As someone said earlier: saying the world will end when the Mayan calendar ends is like saying the world will end after December 31, the end of the Roman calendar.

I've never had issues with speed except when running enormous amounts of flash. Mostly because I can. I really only notice greater speed when I'm doing computational intensive stuff, like playing a 8 player (7 AI) game of civilization 5.
  23. Yeah, geek is the new sexy.
  24. You know, if we're going to throw around numbers about how good our computer is, perhaps we could throw around numbers that mac users could compare to? I'm running an Intel i5 @ 4.4GHz, have 16GB of RAM, a 1TB HDD, and a graphics card with 1GB of onboard memory. As far as the Mac OS goes, I was planning on not updating to 10.8. It seems to be trying to simplify using computers, which I can understand their strategy (easier to use, more people can, and probably will, use it), but it leaves no options for users who don't want their computer simplified.
