  2. Of course you know, this means we WILL meet Cheeseball I. Probably in lich form. And of course, X will be obsessed with summoning an anvil.
  3. I don't mind the world being flat, I just want a special weapon to deal with all the damn bugs. And I don't want to find it at the end of the game either when it does me no good. A returning razordisk might be nice too... Or hey, a bug slaying returning razordisk might be nice as well.
  4. A4 already had a Starship Troopers feel with all the damnable bugs. I can live with the bugs, but ONLY if you make a special bug slaying spear or blade or bow or something. Avernum has Smite, Wyrmslayer, Ghoulbane, all these weapons for killing certain known foes of Avernum, we NEED Bugsbane.
  5. Being delicious is a telepathic thing. You just think I am delicious because your brain has been scrambled to believe so. In reality, I am utterly vile. Shaper enhanced hyper-hypno-tryptophan. The ultimate in revenge toxins. Nighty night.

He's talking about the paper doll you drop items on to equip stuff.
  7. Conform and look like everyone else or else! To change the portraits you must first find the scroll of indeterminable gender change, which can be had by trading the girdle of herniated rupture to the constipated femorian. Then you must find the Sylak skull... Oh wait... What am I doing... Go buy the hint book you lazy git.
  8. Wait... I can't remember, but can you use first aid on your self? If so, a very attractive option for a singleton.

I guess this would be good to determine for sure. ... So, I'm starting my Roman singleton on Torment. I have dubbed him Maximus. He is going to try to be all he can be. I used PC 4, Aurelus, because he has 2 Barter and only 3 SP less than the highest PC who has no special abilities at all. 2 Barter is worth 3 SP to me. I gave him: 5 Strength, 2 Dexterity, 1 Intelligence, 2 Endurance, 2 Armor Use, 2 Druidism, 2 Health Circle, 2 War Circle...and that's it. 1 SP left over. I'll bring Armor Use up to 4 and add some Roman Training and train in Tool Use up to 6. I was curious what opening builds have looked like for Random, Slarty, and others running Roman singletons now. Are you giving him the minor bit of spell ability like I did? The first two spells of these two circles seem pretty important to have, or it will be a long, slow, miserable game with much running away. I was tempted to make a non-magically purist Roman, but soon realized what a drag that would be to play. -S- A superstitious Roman that refuses to believe in magic. Oh my. No rod of decent!
  10. So... Ideally, ignore other stats and crank int. This solves the rune reading issue, increases spell stats, increases offensive power, provides more spell points which in turn means more offense and staying power,
  11. I have some problems of my own. Often the game slows down to a complete crawl and the only way to fix it is to quit and restart to make it work again.
  12. I scrapped Kilbright and will remake keeping much of this info in mind. You can buy healing circle from that hut by the goblin pit.
  13. Well, one of them has 54 I think, I can't remember the other two. I too, tried to play the min-max red wizard shell game. Gordon has no special skills though. None at all.
  14. Everybody else starts off with 50 or so. The difference really is significant, as I have found out with Kilbright. I was able to start off with 3 in every spell section, some herbcraft, 1 in melee and slings, luck, fairy lore, and some small investment in to my physical stats. Can't remember what right now. I think I was able to raise everything up to two. So far, I have found running backwards for three spaces and summoning a wee beastie is sound practice for combat. Wee beastie than goes and eats a few goblins, while I brain them with my sling.
  15. Gordon starts off with 64 skill points, the most out of anybody.
  16. Go back and make sure you finish the first quest. That can screw things up.
  17. Both Romans and Celts. How do you create the perfect party for your adventures? For those folks who play singles, how do you do it? I know there are single Romans, but what about Celts? I'd love to see how different people do things.
  18. Fury Helm? I keep missing that somehow. Bother. Where is the darn thing?
  19. If you had clicked the link near the top of the forum, you would have had the answer right now. You need a pair of shaped gloves, some demon bile, and some mandrake tincture. Mix the two liquids together and then use the resulting potion on the gloves.
  20. You know, somebody should link to this from the list of strategies and what not. It might be slightly useful.
