  1. After the Olympics, the athlete went home to show off his three gold medals to his family. His mother was so proud that she immediately went out and had them bronzed.

  3. My high school had full lockers about a foot wide/deep, and mine saw constant use. The textbooks alone weighed a total of about 40-50 pounds on average, and wheeled backpacks (or any bag with wheels, really) weren't allowed. Therefore, there was absolutely no way I'd carry all my stuff around.

  5. Says someone who's been here only a few months longer than I have. I still can't believe I've been here just under six years now. Yeah, I know that other people have been here much longer, but still,....Time sure flies when you're having fun, huh?

She is going to knock it away with her bat. (There's a reasonable chance that it's only coming because she wants to hit a cosmic home run.) Well, I was commenting on the page as art, and took it only at face value. Excuse me for a minute. *reads Minus from page 1 up to that point* I see. Well, regardless of how it's actually supposed to turn out, I still say it's a great page, and it still gets cuteness points from me.

I'm curious as to how you'd handle zero, though. Originally Posted By: Rowen is off to the coast In high school I was able to get the lock on my locker set so that it would open anytime for anyone. However, I found that if I slammed my locker door a certain way, I could just pull the lock open. I didn't do this too often, because one of the teachers hated loud noises, and my locker was near his classroom.

Even if I were, it's not necessarily a bad thing; there are much, much worse addictions out there. And I for one am glad for the sense of community here. If it weren't for these boards, except for a few times a year when I get together with some friends, I'd practically be a hermit. While we're at it, let's not forget the book Eats, Shoots and Leaves. And I've never heard it called an Oxford comma before, either.

  11. I believe the word you're trying to spell is supercalifragilisticexpialidocious. Which, by the way, is a helpful hint when remembering a password like "Super-Hyper_Narcoleptic.with.Extra-Halitosis."
  12. In fairness, I didn't say the YouTube stuff was good. I'll readily admit that the first few videos do in fact suck, though they do get a bit better over time. I just like the fact that someone actually took the time to do such a project (they've made 56 videos thus far); the quality, or lack thereof, of the work is another matter. Compared with all the atrocities I've found on YouTube over the years, 8-Bit Theater Chaos isn't too bad, relatively speaking.
  13. *Another problem* If the world does end, I'd be dead anyway, so I wouldn't have to pay anything for losing the bet. *Another problem solved*
  14. The only webcomic I follow is Girl Genius. I agree with Dantius, 8-Bit Theater is a great comic despite being finished. The YouTube videos based on it ( ) are pretty cool, too.

I for one am not among them. In fact, if I were a gambler, I'd put down some serious money on the end of the world not happening in my lifetime. I've heard too many end-of-the world dates that have come and gone within my lifetime to take any future date seriously, except in a few billion years when the sun dies, or when the Andromeda galaxy is supposed to collide with ours.
  16. I have about a dozen different passwords on various sites ranging from [sorry, I'm not telling] to [my lips are sealed] to [you've got to be kidding me] to here. Good luck figuring out any of my passwords without software, or even what most of them are for. Despite being written down, everything's been coded using a somewhat complex set of rules only I know and understand. Originally Posted By: !Pinkie Pie How did you know that my password is password? 17. True, but I was hoping at least one other person living near me would've at least heard of Spiderweb.

    Poll: Pie

I give the pie chart a perfect 3.1415926! (Sorry, I'm not up to being more precise than that.)
  19. So that's what the old graphics looked like? Ugh, I can't look at them for very long without getting a headache and mild nausea. No offense to those who prefer them, though. I guess I found the Exile trilogy just in time to be too late to appreciate how things used to be.

  22. My results: Introvert(78%), Sensing(6%), Thinking(12%), Judging(44%). This was a bit weird for me. Normally, when I take a personality test, the results come back negative. Oddly, the results say that I skipped a question, but I couldn't find it when I clicked "Back." I clicked the "Career Choices" link; the suggestions for Accounting and Computer Programming were surprisingly spot-on, and (here's the spooky part) I recently signed up to take classes in these fields this fall. I also saw two other fields I once considered pursuing: Engineering (I'm good at math, but not that good) and Mechanics and Automotive Repair (never bothered with this one, though it was more for curiosity than anything else). The remainder of the list was nowhere near the mark: Technical Education, Sport Coaching, Dentist/Dental Assistant, Law, Military Training, and Security Services. Interesting...The site also says I (supposedly) have the same personality type as Warren Buffett.

  24. I'll add a few more, but I'm not sure how to classify some of them, or what percentages to use. Increased Focus (Advantage): Increases the effectiveness of all Mage and Priest spells (though not to the extent of the "Great Wizard" trait suggested above). Also allows the PC to cast Mage spells while wearing encumbering armor. Hands As Weapons (Advantage, I think): This PC has been trained in unarmed combat. The PC is given a bonus to damage/chance to hit with no weapon equipped, and a penalty to damage/chance to hit when there is a weapon equipped. Hotheaded (Not sure): You're always looking for a fight, and have little to no regard for personal safety when you find one. Gain a slight bonus to hit with a melee weapon, and a penalty to both your chance to evade attacks and your armor rating. Easily Distracted (Disadvantage): Has an increased chance of being hit in combat. Also, if the PC can cast spells, these will have a lessened (if any) effect. Chaotic Combatant (Disadvantage): All attacks have a 10% chance of doing either extra damage or no damage at all. Also, magical and non-missile melee attacks have a chance of damaging the PC, or anyone else nearby (friend or foe), instead of the intended target. Poor Marksman (Disadvantage): All ranged attacks have an increased chance of missing their targets. Then there's "Pacifist" from E2 (Disadvantage): PC can't attack in melee, fire missile weapons, or cast damaging spells. Originally Posted By: S M Adventurer This is a pretty interesting idea. 25. Luck is awesome in E1-3 and BoE, almost to the point of being game-breaking. When you max out a PC's Luck, you pretty much have a god PC.
