  1. So you went as me, the guy who takes the mask off for Halloween. Last year, I told my coworkers that I was planning to dress up as something truly scary, but I couldn't decide whether to be either a mortgage broker or a life insurance salesman. I had to work on Halloween, on the closing shift. I told them I prefer the opening shift, but nooooooooo....
  2. I used to have a book containing code for about 20 BASIC games, including this one. I could never get it to work right, despite having typed it in verbatim.
  3. I'll pass on the wine tasting, thanks. I had my fill of wine by the ripe old age of 14, when I was an altar boy at my church. When I was about 12, we got a new pastor, and he wanted wine served with communion. The congregation wasn't used to the idea, so there was usually a lot left over. You can't put it back in the bottle; and you're not supposed to just pour it down the sink; so the only real option was to finish it off. I was volunteered to help on several occasions, and I'm just glad I always had a designated driver, since sometimes I would come out of the sacristy with quite a buzz.
  4. FYT. Y'konw, that actually has a pretty nice ring to it. And now, if you'll excuse me, I think I just weirded myself out. *backs away slowly, then runs and hides*
  5. I think it sort of sounds like one of the sound effects, but not quite. Also, thanks to that video, I seriously doubt I'll ever listen to "Dueling Banjos" the same way again.

    Congrats, Aran!
  7. I can now complain about this (regarding myself) on two different topics. So for both of you, this is a bad thing......how? It just means you're just as cool now as then, but with mod powers (though I have no idea how long either of you have been mods).
  8. Correct. The higher your level, the less experience you get for each kill--and each quest completion, for that matter--until it ultimately reaches zero (there may be some exceptions, but I doubt it). This is true for all games in the series.
  9. This. To me, they're both the same, yet different.

    Welcome Triumph!

Congrats to Triumph for winning a position as a mod!
  11. have tried: beef, buffalo, pork, lamb, venison, rabbit, chicken, duck, turkey, frogs, several kinds of fish (both white and oily), scallops, clams, mussels, and shrimp. would like to try: goat, quail. goose, pheasant, oyster, crab, and lobster. Also, more out of curiosity than anything else, rattlesnake.
  12. Welcome back! I think I remember you from before, but my memory is, as usual, fuzzy. As for your return, it was inevitable. All roads leading out of Spiderweb ultimately send you in a circle leading back here, so anyone who leaves is bound to come back. They all come back....
  13. Well, just remind me not to get you angry.
  14. Congrats, Jerakeen! Yes, I kind of see why it would be. I just hope you're also a friendlier mod than your picture.
  15. Congrats, Nikki! I wouldn't know about the quilting, but maybe the tea, especially if it's iced tea.
  16. Thanks, although flattery, as the saying goes, will get you nowhere. I try to aim for maximum pun in minimum space, with timing as the main key. Also, a warning: I have a ton of material I haven't used yet, so expect more as time passes (and it will indeed pass; it's certainly studied hard enough).
  17. And, weather permitting, I'll be outside, shakerboarding. B)

    Test Topic

Arriving in style! As for how the new board looks, I like some parts, don't truthfully dislike others, can't really complain overall. The only thing to do now is decide where to put my lava lamp (if I had one)......

    500!!!

Hence one of my sayings: Sanity is inversely relative. The more relatives you have, the less likely you are to be sane. That said, Happy 500th, Nightwatcher!
  20. Y'know, I think I might like a cup of tea right now. Anyone care to join me in one, or can't you swim?

It's usually due to two emotions: fear and greed. When there's bad news, fear causes the price to plummet; when there's good news, greed can cause prices to skyrocket. I'm just glad I passed on Facebook.
