In Avernum, the wall shrinks, or moves out of the way so you can see the part of the room obstructed by the wall in the first place. I would like to do the same, but I don't know how. I also need the wall to pop back up when the party leaves the room. How do you do this? Okay, set a node at the door to check whether SDF (x,x) is set to 1 or not. If not, call a change terrain node that turns the wall section into floor, and then set the flag to 1. If the flag is set to 1, call a change terrain node to change it back to wall again, since the party is leaving, and then set the flag back to 0. EDIT: Er, you might want to add a looking block, too.
  2. I haven't played Nethergate, but I suspect there is a way to turn of the popup boxes, probably through the Preferences menu. You might try that. I don't know what the cause of these shutdowns would be, though.
  3. Wow. I wish I had one of Thissa's javelins.
  4. Maybe you're missing a system library. If that's the case, do system restore or system recovery. If that's the case. BtW, should this be in Tech Support? EDIT: Yep, it's a system DLL for me. If you're really desperate to play your games, run system recovery (though you have to reinstall everything else afterwards).
  5. Or if you've joined the Anama and you try to cast a mage spell. But then again, this is BoE, sorry. Maybe you should reinstall the whole game. That is, if you've had similar problems with other scenarios.
  6. Yay. Good for you. So have I. I'm very proud of you now. Be sure and keep posting. Heh, another buddy, who, along with me, loves announcing post milestones. Congrats. 640! Yes!
  7. When I donloaded Quintessence, it seemed to be corrupted also because it didn't work. I've never tried it since. Maybe you should try downloading from a different site if it still doesn't work.
  8. I think if you take the ferry from Shayder to Marish and go north, you'll be in the right area. In E3, I mean.
  9. How many contests are there going to be? Until people quit making scenarios? I thought for a minute the 6th was going to be the last.
  10. Like I said before, the bandits because they're all over the place and they're easy experience. Same thing with, slimes, roaches, goblin and after a while trogs. But the bandit I can 'legally' fight if they don't include apprentice mages. Don't ask. Bye-bye peoples. I'm gonna be gone the next couple days on a hunting trip. Wish me luck.
  11. Unless you have a lot of money, I've considered buying enchanted weapons a bit too expensive for what it's worth (but then again, I haven't played E3 all that much). If you want to get to Golddale, just go east past Krizsan and the slime pit until you hit a river. Then follow the river up north a ways until to come to a road and bridge across the bridge is Golddale. Hope that helps. Also, I believe all the towns on the far southeast are Storm Port, Libras, and Bolton, though I don't remember any of them having enchanting shops.
  12. Be sure and get an optical one, though. They're more accurate, don't require cleaning, and don't freeze up as much as the ball ones. I have one, and it works like a dream compared to the last one.
  13. Anaximander (that's how you spell it). Just because he's so interested in all of your 'reports'.
  14. E3. Also, most people just call me ben. My moniker changes every 150 posts, so in two more posts it will change again.
  15. If you are going to just stick with BoE, just keep playing and designing like you always do. I you are going to buy BoA, you mays well try to learn the editor anyway, since it's there. You can always alternate your scenarios between BoE and BoA.
  16. Yes, but I've never heard much about it, except for the fact that Djur is making it.
  17. If you think BoE is not capable of what you want it to do, why not write your own game and make it legal? There's no point in risking having Jeff on your case; he's already ignorant enough of us BoE players. (discussion already had)
  18. Are you referring to that message you get by pressing Shift+7,8,9,0, or am I too much of an Exile n00b?
  19. Hmmmm, it seems like I've encountered a similar problem with the BoE editor. I think it's a result of opening a file, renaming the file, and then trying to save the file with its old filename. It causes the scenario file to become corrupted. I don't know if that's the problem you have, but it might be.
  20. Whatever it was, it must not have been put into action because I've never heard of it. This is Exile Online, as close as it could get.
  21. Firestorm! Just walk up to a bunch of monsters, see 8 spell points fry them to a crisp, and then laugh your head off---menacingly. Repeat.
  22. Eh, I can always open RTFs on WordPad. I don't know why you need MS Word.
  23. Since Exile is simpler, north is actually up, the BoE editor is easier to use, you can have 6 people in your party, and the demos files are smaller and therefore take less time to download, I say that if you haven't tried Exile, definately do.
  24. I actually remember you, from back when I was just lurking. How are ya'? Haven't seen Sir Robin lately, though.
