  1. Will this game be friendly to first-timers to the Geneforge saga? Or will I be lost like a little lamb that has wandered from the flock?
  2. I want a cool shirt like that too. Time for me bust out my mad cross stitching skills.
  3. I now see them all wearing those stickers that say, "Hello, My Name Is:..."
  4. When I played the game the first time I took the geas and then killed Gladwell as soon as I could and removed the geas. My second time I did not take the geas and still when killed Gladwell. Either way you look at it Gladwell dies.
  5. Killing Gladwell but leaving the geas on you will mean that you are still be compelled to complete the quests for the dead Gladwell, but you keep the stats he gave you. Yes, quests that you would get if you were not geased will still be unavailble.
  6. The way I kill them is to get my level up higher then it curently is and then smack em' around till they all die. But thats not the fastest nor funnest way to do it, just my way.
  7. Quote: I have completely redone the tutorial system. I think experienced players will be very happy with it now. - Jeff Vogel This is from the Geneforge 5 update in March but I believe that we can see the same redone tutorial system in Avernum 6. EDIT: FIxed a "[" for the quote.
  8. Or just press the "u" on the keyboard to see anything that you might have missed.
  9. My tests (I just reloaded a saved file and fought through the Loyalist tower to test each spell) shows me that arcane blow does more damage the fire blast and that ME doesnt save any mp points when I cast it. Over all, my tests match up to what EvilEye said.
  10. Wow. I think I am going to go try out torment after reading what you did. Or maybe I'll just bump my party up to torment so I don't have to start over again.
  11. Maybe bring back the days when if you steal and are seen that the people turn hostile on you.
  12. I play the game twice to fit my split personality. First time I was a "mostly" good person that was very compasionat to help other in need. Second time I played serving my greedy "all about me" personality and took no heed to who was hurt or killed to serve my greater good. I joined the darksides due to them helping me get my wants.
  13. Over all, I find that its good to get to the job board first thing in town and then talk to everyone in town to get any quests from them before I go off to bang some more heads in. Also, compleating some quests with make it so you cannot recive other quests.
  14. To bad my party couldn't get any skribbane to chew on. I loved that stuff in A3.
  15. *crys* Well, as long as the game feels open-ended I guess it doesn't really have to be. Jeff is good at working around things like that.
  16. I would like to see a open area like from A1 or A3 where I could walk to amost anywhere. the only thing that gives you a since of direction was that the mosters will kill you if you go to far out to fast. But it gave me that sort of "open rpg" feel when I played them.
  17. I would like to see the return of Grah-Hoth. Edit: Maybe he could be the one behind my earlier idea in the attack on the three nations.
  18. I would really like to have it so that when I am hasted and then get slowed, it slowes me down to normal speed, erasing only me haste effect. That means I have to get slowed again to get my ap under my normal number. I would then have to use two hastes to get my haste effect again. Also to have the same thing aply to the monsters in the game.
  19. My hope for Avernum 6 is a large epic game that starts you off playing the first chapter as a vahnatia in the lower caves that was left awake after the newest sleeping. You discuver that your lands are being invaded by creatures from farther below the caves and while your people are sleeping these invaders kill them. You manage to escape and enter Avernite lands. Chapter 2 starts off with you now playing a party for the Avernum army that is in a civil war over the space in the caves. A lone vahnatia enters their lands and and tries to warn them of the invaders from below but the Avernites are so wrapped up in their civil war that they don't listen until these invaders take over the Avernite caves. The remaining people in the caves are forced to retreat to the surface, starting chapter 3, and the Empire is not happy to see them under the sun. You play this chapter as Empire soldiers in part of keeping the Avernites under control on the surface only to find that the surface is soon invaded by these creatures also. The Empire, Avernum, and a few Vahnatia that managed to escape the caves join together to fight back these creatures. Chapter 4 is where the surface is cleaned up and the creatures are pushed back into the caves. During all the fighting you will encounter your other charecters from earlier in the game now being used as npc's to help in the fighting. Chapter 5 is where you retake the Avernite lands in the cave and are now once again playing as the Avernite party you had before. After retaking the caves with the help of the Empire the leaders of the Avernites, Empire, and the Vahnatia meet together and decide to try to lure the rest of the creatures to the Avernite caves to destroy them. As they do this they want to send a small army into the lowest caves to kill any remaining creatures that might escape. This party will be the Vahnatia, Avernite, and Empire parties that you played in chapters 1, 2, and 3 only now some of them will be npc's that travel with you. Chapter 6 is where you travel to the lowest caves and hunt out these creatures and discover the true and original masters of the caves that your people are now inhabiting. Over all they game should be about uniting the three nations into one for a common cause, to stay alive.

This summons more scuttlers once per pit. I rang the gongs and then rang them again just to be sure. My grand total of eyes is 7. <weeps> I'll definitely keep in mind your tips on the singleton, thank you for the help and tips. Thank you U of I for giving me a week long vacation to play Avernum 5.
  21. I love the demo part. I wish I wasn't some poor college kid who is living by day by day so I could pony up the cash for this game. One thing that happened to me in the demo is that I killed all the skuttlers before I got quest to get the nice eyes for the mage. Is there any way that I can complete this quest or am I hosed on this one? Im now going through the demo as a slith singleton. I find that I am hoding everylittle thing I find that I can sell to get the cash to beef up my level one mage and priest spells as fast as I can. Has anyone done this game with a singleton that can maybe tell me what I should keep my eyes open for?
  22. I was wondering what why the some walls had black bricks on them. Thought it was just to make it seem for real. Thank you for the hint.
  23. I looked at the instructions and didn't get into them to deep, just look at all the pages to see what was there. One thing I didn't see was if there are hidden passages and fake doors. Does this mean that I should start walking into all the walls in the game to see what is hidden behind it? Or is this like A4 in that there are no hidden doors or passages?
