Fledgling Fyora ElElegante
Hi, could anyone give me some pointers as to how I am supposed to defeat the pylons and the Hraithe shade in the caverns below Tenevra? I already noticed I can only really damage the blue pylon, but I cannot reduce it below 1 hit point. Any help would be appreciated!
Ineffable Wingbolt Øther
Just keep hitting the ones that are blue, and stay away from the red ones. Eventually, something will happen.
Fledgling Fyora ElElegante
Thanks! Guess I should have been a bit more patient there...
Garrulous Glaahk Venom
Approximately how long does this take? I've been hitting the blue pylons for about ten or twelve rounds and nothing has happened except me getting killed by the shade. Or one of my guys gets scared and runs away and I have to start all over. I did notice a little text that said the shade was getting hurt a couple of times. Hatchling Cockatrice Randomizer
It shouldn't take more than that for the whole encounter. Just move around to avoid taking damage and concentrate on the pylon and check to see that it is taking damage. The colors change every few rounds so you can't hit the same one. Garrulous Glaahk Venom
Maybe I'm too low of a level to survive this yet. I've tried half a dozen times and can't survive more than 15 rounds. I just wish it would give me some indicator that I'm getting close.
Garrulous Glaahk Venom
So I finally beat it. I would advise anyone else who has difficulty with this to focus all attention on the sparkling blue pillar. If you damage it significantly, it only takes three rounds to beat the trap. After that, it's easy.
Garrulous Glaahk Snowwhite
Having horrible problems here. I get the blue pylon down to 1 and keep hitting it and then eventually it moves around. I manage to do this three times but then one of the characters gets spooked and runs out of the circle and it all stops and I get to start over...or the Hraithe keeps using rain of fire till 3 of the 4 die. Is the pylon supposed to change when it gets to 1? Have tried this so many times that my frustration level has hit the top. Turned the difficulty to casual and this didn't get me through? ARGH! Any help?
Hatchling Cockatrice Randomizer
You have to reduce the pylon several times before it goes and it changes. Keeping away from the Hraithe helps. I don't remember having that much trouble.
Rotghroth Rhapsody txmimi
I am having all the same problems listed in the above posts. I understand the concept, but can't follow it through when half the characters die almost immediately and/or one or two get scared and run away, causing me to start over. . . and over. . . and over. My characters are levels 36-38. . .is that enough? I can't seem to get far enough away to avoid the killer spells and still be able to hit the designated pylon. I've gone away and done other things and come back several times, with no better results.
Ineffable Wingbolt Mosquito---Slayer
36-38 should be more than enough really, If you're having too much trouble with the mental attacks, use the mental shield spell, also buff your party to hell before starting this fight. Understated Ur-Drakon Earth
that battle requires health (endurance) and healing and buffs.
Rotghroth Rhapsody txmimi
Yes to mental spells and yes to healing and all the buffs I have. . . I don't finish even the second round.
Understated Ur-Drakon Earth
then most likely your party needs more endurance and needs to deal more damage.
