Tenderfoot Thahd tbbd
I got a quest from the Hawthorne guy to get a book from the mines. I brought it back to him and then he gave me another quest to get a wand, however I had no idea that he was going to ask that, so I sold the wand. How can I get it back? The person I sold it to does not offer it for sale anymore.
Hatchling Cockatrice Lilith
According to Schro's FAQ, you can make an inferno wand on an anvil using a stick, gemstone, perfect drakon scale and demon bile.
Easygoing Eyebeast The Mystic
That's why I save as many items as I can, if I think they're useful. For as much as I've said that I sell in other topics, I'm also a major pack rat. You should see the mounds of items I accumulate, only to find out that at least half of it is actually junk. Unflappable Drayk MagmaDragoon
If you don't have ingredients, don't worry. You will found another later.
Understated Ur-Drakon Nioca
Sadly, 'later' means Dhonal's Isle. To my knowledge, The Wand of Inferno from the mine is the only one on the first two islands. And because Demon Bile is so rare, you probably don't want to waste it on making a wand. Easygoing Eyebeast Schrodinger
From what I remember, the reward for that quest is pretty minimal. I think it's a bit of XP and a recipe for an item you can't make till Dhonal's isle anyway. It's usually a better choice to keep or sell the wand and make do that way. If you're wondering what the recipe, check the FAQ.
Well-Actually War Trall Micawber
That's all very well, but involves leaving a quest uncompleted. The obsessive types among us find that rather difficult.

No, the reward for completion of this quest is the recipe for the all-protector shield, which you can't make till Dhonal's isle as the ingredients are fully available there. You can make an inferno wand using Thuryl's recipe, then trade it in for the all-protector recipe (which is in the FAQ). Quote: That's all very well, but involves leaving a quest uncompleted. Unflappable Drayk John S
Note that using up the wand's charges in no way prevents you from completing the quest; the wand can be turned in completely depleted (with "X" charges) for a full reward. No problem! I realized my first post wasn't clear, too.
Hatchling Cockatrice Randomizer
Since you still are on the first island you could just replay the game in about 6 hours. That would help with your desire to complete all the quests and you could make any changes to your character that you want. The first quest for Hawthorne is a prism that show up as a special item. The book is wanted by the other mage.
