Richard Bacon
What would be better for me to use. Crossbows or Bows. I'd choose crossbows but im wondering if Bolts can be poisoned or not. or is it only arrows that can be poisoned. or is this not even possible because only the item "poison arrows" are poisoned arrows
Randomizer
You can poison all weapons, however until you have enough skill with poison you can poison yourself when applying it. In Exile the bigger question is the availability of arrows and bolts without having to buy them. In the early part of the game it is easier to find arrows.

You can't poison thrown weapons such as darts, stones, etc. Guessing you can't poison a sling, either.
Thaluikhain
I was going to say I didn't think it mattered, but arrows are more plentiful than bolts, yeah. Though, slings avoid that problem. OTOH, bows, crossbows and slings don't seem terribly useful anyway.
The Almighty Doer of Stuff
It was discovered, upon examining the code, that Bows skill was completely non-functional in legacy BoE due to a programming error. Thrown Missiles skill worked, I think. GiantFriendlyTalkingSpiderman

Celtic Minstrel
In the unstable OBoE version, yes it should function now. But that version isn't really playable yet.
