Tenderfoot Thahd Darkwind
Would it be possible for a new editor for blades to be made, that would still except the old format (obviously) but able to do a few things I've thought of, that would make it better, such as... Custom Sounds, play music possibly? More options for item making, stronger abilites in items (if you wanted), some sort of feature that makes it easier to place custom graphics in the games... and so on and so forth. I think that would be great so if Jeff reads this he should really consider it, especially the part about making easier ways to stick graphics in. Rotghroth Rhapsody Grain of Salt
This indeed would be wonderful. However, Jeff Vogel has decided that Blades of Exile is now at the point where he's declared it to be a dead game, but he's still hoping someone, somewhere will buy it. Therefore, he won't fix it at all but still refuses to let out the source code so that we can fix it. It's not a good situation.
Easygoing Eyebeast *i
Will not happen.
Curious Artila stu_pidd_cow
I agree that the graphics are a pain in the @#$%, but other than that, a new editor isn't need. I think Jeff is giving way on exile and on with the other ones like avernum. If you ask me, exile is the best series Jeff has created... but that's just my opinion. Rotghroth Rhapsody Grain of Salt
stu_pidd_cow, the editor is filled with so many bugs that it makes the Guiness World record for flies killed in twenty minutes look pathetic. There's two(3?) whole articles at the Lyceum describing what's wrong with it.
Curious Artila stu_pidd_cow
I have seen the majority of the bugs (some to my advantange) but it doesn't spoil the fun with the editor.
Ineffable Wingbolt RobertAKARobin
And a plethera of bugs didn't stop a number of kickarse scenarios being made with it. BoE is better.

Curious Artila jockmo42
I think that despite BoE's somewhat numerous flaws, it still retains much power, flexibility, and simplicity. An update would be all this editor needs to go from "Good" to "Great!".
Easygoing Eyebeast *i
I believe most of us agree, it's too bad that it will not happen. But seriously, if I had a wish for one product to be native in Mac OS X, I'd definitely say BoE.

Magnificent Ornk Kelandon
Dual-boot Windows and run Win-BoE. That's what I'm going to do when I someday get a new Mac.
Easygoing Eyebeast *i
Would be a lot easier if Jeff invested the work. I'd be willing to pay $5-10 for an upgrade.
Garrulous Glaahk D Pliss
it has resistant {magic cold fire whatnot} and imune, but it could use 'weak vs. somthing.
Easygoing Eyebeast ben4808
Not an upgrade of the game, dude, an upgrade of the editor.
Garrulous Glaahk D Pliss
Well, in exile 'the editer' can be character editer or scenario editer.
Easygoing Eyebeast *i
What's an editer?
Curious Artila jockmo42
When asked why he hasn't released the source code in an E-mail, Jeff sent me back this message; Quote: "It is something we might do some day, but there are legal issues involved. We need to go carefully before we do something like this. " Unquote Is there a reason that the Blades of Avernum editor source code was released so quickly? Wouldn't that be a far greater loss of profit to Spiderweb than releasing for BoE?
