Tenderfoot Thahd JavaJack
OK, I Click to reveal.. saved Asterios. The Cotra army leader now tells me to Click to reveal.. join Asterios in the Cotra basement. There are two down stairs on the north side of Cotra, but both of them are barred by portcullises a few squares into the basement. What am I missing? Hatchling Cockatrice Randomizer
The one to the north and slightly east of the Cotra army leader should now be open (you have to go along the inside of the Cotra' walls from the east). I don't remember if Asterios is still upstairs and you need to talk to him too. Welcome to Spiderweb Software. Please leave your sanity at the door. Garrulous Glaahk Venom
And prepare for the best part of Avernum 6! Very, very well written. In my opinion, anyways.
Rotghroth Rhapsody madrigan
Yeah, this is a great set piece.
Unflappable Drayk Ceiling Durkheim
Wholeheartedly agreed. That and Click to reveal.. the fights against Ghavassa-Oss and Ess-Kalyn were my favorite scenes in A6.

The events at Cotra, Formello, and the Horned Gate were extremely cool and well scripted. Also a certain sequence at the Tower Colony... Unflappable Drayk Ceiling Durkheim
Quite so. It's a bit shorter than the other three (straight boss fight, as opposed to boss fight and preamble/escape), which is why I didn't think of it before. A6 definitely has my favorite scripted scenes/events of any of Jeff's games.

Unflappable Drayk Ceiling Durkheim
Not necessarily. I've gotten pretty much all the loot, and on torment. If one's builds are reasonably up to snuff, all it requires is a bit of planning.
Hatchling Cockatrice Randomizer
It's all in knowing how to split up the party and use battle frenzy to get enough action points to cover the distance.
Garrulous Glaahk Venom
Actually, that is another reason I like it. Being forced to run and not just walk around picking up every piece of chainmail you find enhances the atmosphere of this part. Not that I think this is a good idea for every situation, mind you. There are some BoA scenarios which I felt did this too much. That tends to get frustrating. This struck the perfect balance.
Understated Ur-Drakon Earth
luckily (as far as I know) there aren't good items at that place so only general loot is missed.

There is some nice stuff in the locked cabinet and someone drops something else that you might want.
