Easygoing Eyebeast VCH
So how badly does Gladwell mess things up for the underworld if you keep helping him? I just broke the seals on the Undead Spiral and I'm thinking that may have been a bad idea and he probably isn't the best employer.
Hatchling Cockatrice Randomizer
Ending if you help Gladwell all the way: Click to reveal.. Gladwell moves out of his new power base and replaces Starrus as king of Avernum restoring the power balance with himself in charge. Ending if you help Gladwell all the way and kill him: Click to reveal.. Starrus remains king and you get to wonder what would have happened if Gladwell had consolidated his power. Gladwell does have a really funny line if you help him all the way and then decide to attack him.
Magnificent Ornk Ephesos
And of course, for the sake of completion, if you do not help Gladwell, his efforts come to... Click to reveal.. ...naught. Gladwell is easily deposed by the other surviving powers when he attempts to rise up later on.
Garrulous Glaahk Rionep Ecnirp Etlevs
Oh GOD, WHY oh WHY did I read the spoilers?!! I hoped Gladwell's ending would be no big deal, so I read ahead out of curiosity, although I've only completed one quadrant. Damn me. Curious Artila elchipeo
i just finished it, and i helped gladwell all the way and didn't kill him. I must say, i was pretty satisfied that I did. He may be a manipulative [censored], but I wouldn't want avernum paying tribute to melanchion. screw that.
Kyshakk Koan Monroe
I'm actually glad I read that spoiler. Now I have a reason to play a game where I actually don't kill him for once. I gotta see that ending!
Curious Artila elchipeo
hmm.. now that I think about it, I wonder what happens if you kill melanchion and not gladwell, removing the problem gladwell solves. does he take power by force?.. I must investigate. anyone have a problem with me posting the answer here?
Kyshakk Koan Monroe
I'm as curious as you. Just be sure to put it in a spoiler tag.
Hatchling Cockatrice Randomizer
Gladwell alive, Melanchion dead, Farrar dead, Darkside Loyalists dead, the Scourge Dead, Tenevra in ruins: Click to reveal.. Gladwell takes over from King Starrus for a reduced Avernum. They don't have the power to displace the Sliths, but the Sliths can't advance. The Abyss stays free since Melanchion isn't able to take over even without Farrar to fight Spire.
Curious Artila elchipeo
damn you randomizer, i just finished those are the same events I have but yeah, that's what happens. i'm gonna take that save and kill gladwell now and see what happens. btw, i just noticed, the variables that change the game, if I kill gladwell now, i will have murdered everybody i can ... hmm, you think I can kill the king? this demands investigation... does anyone know what happens if you kill the scourge but not tenevra? IE, can I trade the northern neighbor from slith to vahnatai? seems like a superior outcome, unless they decide to fight gladwell
Curious Artila elchipeo
Click to reveal.. well, this is disappointing, the king stays in power and nothing else changes. i suspect avernum is stronger with gladwell, but that's just me. there it is
Curious Artila elchipeo
you can't kill the king i greased the dude in one hit, didn't even get a popup text, he just crumpled up like the tutorial rats
Curious Artila elchipeo
i'm kind of curious now.. it's way too late for me to change these, but what happens if you don't eliminate tenevra? the scourge? what happens if you leave both alive? do they both invade you if you leave them alone, but cancel each other out if you don't? it's exam season, i don't have time for another replay.. Garrulous Glaahk The Knight Who Said Ni
Well if you leave Tenevra alive the ending doesn't dramatically change, it just says something about Click to reveal.. The Vahnatai making small incursions, and occasional trying to take back their land. -Ni.
