Burgeoning Battle Gamma Ganduv
Hello everybody, I've just maxed out pretty much everything I can on my shaper main character and am now gearing him up. So what is the best robe for him to use (I am also wondering if there is a Shaped robe and where to find it, and also if you can make it Perfected) and also if you want to post other stuff that would be good to use for my character (I'm mainly working on the robe) that would be great thanks! Hatchling Cockatrice Lilith
I'd recommend the Stability Suit: it raises your action points, which is incredibly important now that Haste has been weakened. Being able to reliably heal or buff your creations twice a round makes a big difference. You might even consider the Quicksilver Plate, if you can get enough Strength to wear it without being encumbered. Switch to the Shaper Robe when you need to make new creations, so that they gain the benefit of the bonus to shaping skills.
Burgeoning Battle Gamma Ganduv
Ah I see, so where would I go about finding the stability suit and the shaper robe? Somebody needs to make a list of artifacts too I've noticed.
Garrulous Glaahk Untamed Banana Slug
Someone already has. Check out Strategy Central.

Magnificent Ornk Dikiyoba
The Shaper ghost in the Okavano Sea Caves drops it when he dies. Coincidentally, Dikiyoba just finished that particular fight about two minutes ago.
Hatchling Cockatrice Lilith
The Shaper Robe is useful, but there's not much reason to wear it when you're not actually making creations.
Well-Actually War Trall A less presumptuous name.
Unless you're like me. I always manage to forget to make my creations in the town with all of my gear, so my creations are always a few levels lower than what they could be. Meh
Garrulous Glaahk Untamed Banana Slug
Sounds to me like you need to equip the Girdle of Genius to increase your intelligence.
Well-Actually War Trall A less presumptuous name.
Sadly, I already have that on. I can never remember where the +2 belt is. I always forget to mark down when I find it. Perhaps I need a Girdle of Memory...
Magnificent Ornk Dikiyoba
The Girdle of Genius is the +2 intelligence belt and it's located in the Podling Crossroads. The Student's Belt is the only +1 intelligence belt Dikiyoba remembers seeing in the game.
Well-Actually War Trall A less presumptuous name.
There is also one which gives +1 intelligence and +1 intelligence. The two above give intelligence and energy preservation, I think.
Ineffable Wingbolt Spddin Ignis
its +1 intel and +1 intel to creations master
Chittering Clawbug Potato
I believe it is called the Girdle of Insight.
Well-Actually War Trall A less presumptuous name.
Yes, silly typo. And that sounds to be the right name. I think it was determined that those (well, genius above the other two) are the best belts for any heavy shaping character. While the crafted belts are nice, the intelligence bonuses are just too good to give up.
Chittering Clawbug Potato
The projection belt is also pretty good. Unfortunately, I am currently torn between it and the girdle of genius on my Shock Trooper run. I don't know which one I should choose. Ineffable Wingbolt Spddin Ignis
i would go with the Girdle Of Genius
Garrulous Glaahk Shaper Tristan
i would use the essence chitin(i belive thats what it is called) its found in the secret passage and has 22 arm, 1 to all shaping, plus stun(no idea), all at12.5 weight. Easygoing Eyebeast Dantius
Actually, you would be better off wearing the Projection Girdle than the GoG, because it will wind up making your creations more powerful than you could make them with the extra +2 int. I'm currently playing as an Agent, though, so I wear the Girdle of Life for the extra endurance.
Magnificent Ornk Dikiyoba
Increasing creation stats beyond their base is generally a waste of essence, though. The extra essence is better used to create more and better creations or held in reserve for spell use. Dikiyoba.
Well-Actually War Trall A less presumptuous name.
Given that your essence per stat point increases with your level, the Girdle of Genius ends up giving you a pretty good about of essence. I haven't even entered the Dera Reaches yet, but I already have 3 tralls. I also have enough essence for a few rounds of buffing and some good mental magic. I would much rather be able to buff my creations than give them a few more stat points.
Hatchling Cockatrice Aoslare
The GoG is useful initially for boosting your essence to make more creations sooner. Once you have done that and levelled up to recover your essence reserves, it's a huge waste to not use the creation-stat-boosting equipment. Well-Actually War Trall A less presumptuous name.
I'll admit that I may be wrong. As I continue my current play through, I may switch over. I haven't played fully on torment before, so I'm open to changes from my norm.
