Wow, I'm resurrecting this thread again, to say the bug is not present with Mac OS X 10.10.2 and GoG Avernum 3 version 1.0.0.9. Looking forward to finally playing A3. I've played every Avernum now except 3 and 6, so it's about time!

Are you sure for A3, and what's the formula? I have seen this question answered for A4, but for A3 I want to make sure it's advantageous to make my mage the tool use character. If not, my instinct would be to make that my nephil archer (character 2).

Ok what is this Mass Curing thing? S of Fort Dranlon, I cannot find any fountains, let alone a SW one. Is there a different fort you mean?

I'd love a respec option with a cost and only unlocked in mid-late game, similar to Avadon games. I only use the character editor to reassign points in a way I could have legitimately done, not to make my characters gods, but I still am made to feel like a cheater doing that.

I know this is an old thread but, does the wishing well do anything different in A2:CS? Does it matter how much luck your party has?

What I found was a bug that yields the same result. I robbed Almaria first (and captured a Haakai), then robbed the Castle, then got Dark Thoughts. I had 2 Dread Curses right before getting Dark Thoughts, but afterward it was set to 1 Dread Curse instead of 3. It seems like Jeff accidentally made Dark Thoughts set Dread Curse to 1 instead of increment it.

Speaking of Pyrrhic Gauntlets, agreed but I sold them because of the radioactive effect already, it was more because of the annoyance than the actual damage. However, can anyone tell me whether Walner, who's interested in such items, can uncurse the gloves or has anything special to say if you bring them to him?

So what's the final verdict, does Lethal Blow affect magic or not in A2:CS? I'm wondering because I just got Assassin's Shield, and wanted to know if the LB made it an upgrade or not for a magic user over a Steel Shield.

Thanks, well that's an amazing necklace then. Totally changed it from A:EftP. The 3 Resistance one is also great, but I can put that on another character.

Emerald chain gives 3% armor and 3 Blademaster and is worth 1500g. Talisman of Might gives 8% melee damage and is worth 4000g. 3 Blademaster = 9% melee damage and 3% hit. Do these two items add/multiply damage differently in a way that makes Talisman of Might better, or is it really a vendor item if I have only one warrior?

The only difference I see is my warrior goes from 50% to 51% mental resistance. Is it only this small mental resist boost, in exchange for a dread curse?

Nope. Just went back after my whole party had less than 200 xp after previous level. The chair still set them each back 500 xp, so that the next level for all was over 1k away. I'm thinking it's not worth it.

Yeah now that'd be nice. I think I'll try that, or else wait till my party hits 30.

To anyone wondering about additional reasons to have natural AL instead of Sage Lore, my party has 2 natural AL, 2 Vahnatai Lore and 4x Sage Lore traits, and Wilvron-Bok can't teach me any spells. Unless it's a Vahnatai Lore check, it suggests that these spells may require natural AL.

I retested it, and it seems to be -500xp per character. How much is a wisdom crystal worth? I'm wondering if this is worth it now. Maybe not...

With no downsides? Wow. Not what I'd expect an electric chair to do .

There's an electric chair in Ornotha Ziggurat, and when I sit in it I get 4x this message: "One character is affected by the power of the chair." The dialogue text indicates that my characters should feel stronger but stupider, yet I don't see any change to stats, traits or special items. Maybe I've been affected by the power of the chair, because I can't figure it out.

What about Bow of Storms with 50% bonus? Is that just to its own damage? It still looks weak and useless if I'm not using bows to attack. Am I right?

Ice pudding seemed like a great choice. I tested it, and the dang trail does friendly fire, er, ice >.>. Little guy was freezing my party while I was fighting a named drake on Torment LOL.
