  1. I had old save games, I changed the difficulty level and Reloaded the file, which showed no change.
  2. I checked the health thing, it stays the same at all difficulties, anyway, I don't think you have anything to worry about, the game is rather easy till the bandit quests and the last bandit leader can actually be killed in a single round, from this point onwards the difficulty starts picking up although the game stays relatively easy compared to A5 and A6 at all points. I do find it strange that the enemies hit points don't change with difficulty but it's quite possible that Jeff balanced this one with resistances and/or better attacks.
  3. You can see the real glory if you use the heartstriker, most other bows are crappy or almost crappy in terms of damage, however they aren't useless since they have lesser chance to be parried , also some enemies are only reachable by bows or do nasty things on being struck in melee.
  4. There are cheats that can help you get out of the zone so that you can buy living tools(unless of course you exhausted every single one in the game.) and possibly level up a bit more.
  5. Ah, that explains why I never understand a single word of theirs.
  6. Well over time you will become good at estimating this but I don't think there is a direct method to determine it. (Unless of course you are willing to count the number of squares in the distance and move your character with the keyboard ) I can though tell you that - Moving takes 1 AP, if you moved away from someone hostile it takes 4 AP and an attack/heal etc. takes 9 AP, battle disciplines don't use any AP.(All these can be done even if you don't have enough AP but then your turn will immediately end.) Also welcome to spiderweb software, please leave your sanity at the door, the fluffy turtles need to be fed.
  7. Xian skull, No explanation needed. Ah well, had no idea what Macsomethings were.
  8. I actually thought the English speaking spiders was the moment the line was crossed.
  9. Yes, the only fights that should be taking so long are the Redbeard and the Zephyrine,(+possibly the demon), enemies need to have high health because they can't heal like players, also giving them low HP and killer attack makes the fights too stupid, (if one of your warriors manages to get close to the enemy he is dead, if not then you are dead), the only game where I have felt enemies have too high health is A:eftp .
  10. There are cheats that can restore your health and energy if you don't mind using them.
  11. Yes, it sometimes happens to me too, turning down the game quality helps with it though.
  12. From Matt P's walkthrough :- Melee Weapons :- Pole Weapons :- Bows : - (Only notable items covered.)
  13. +10% hit chance means little, if you have invested decently in melee weapons your fighter will almost never miss even after wearing the heavies possible armor. Apart from the fire resistant things, flaming sword generally does better damage because most enemies will have better physical resistance than fire.
  14. I am very sorry to hear that. May God give you strength to tide over this rough time.
  15. I refuse to go to any places where you have acid sprayed on you every second fight.
  16. Generally if you play normally, focus on the quests and don't attempt anything extraordinary, you will be able to finish them on time,so resting or waiting don't really affect you too much unless you have got a really patient or sleepy party.
  17. You can get to Melanchion from the south of Fort Monanstery, however you will need specific quest from the castle to do that, you can't go there before that without making the area hostile.
  18. I don't really know about A2, but in A3 abilities improved somewhat with your level, they were still pretty weak though.
  19. Why don't these guys just go to the Olympics and win every single gold medal that's available in fencing? Seriously, the worth of a lot of eastern fighting arts has been exaggerated like hell by movies and such, I'm not saying they aren't good, they certainly are and a trained person will probably beat down 2-3 untrained guys all by himself, but they don't make you super human. Just for a crude comparison, a real powerful badminton smash travels at 250 Kmph, and you have a decent sized racket head to hit it, plus you aren't going to die if the shuttle hits you, still at such speeds even top players often miss the shuttle totally even when it's aimed at there body , Modern arrows travel at much the same speed, possibly a bit higher, while medieval arrows traveled at much higher speeds, granted it's not a great comparison because the shuttle isn't surely aimed at you and the arrow is longer(albeit thinner), but still at least it makes the arrow cutting prospect seem rather dubious to me.
  20. In all fairness, the captain of fort Saffron warns you about them being really powerful.
