  1. Hello, I am clearly not a strategic expert on this fight: my main problem is survive the first wave of monsters, the last three waves are much more easier to deal with. I guess that if you can wipe quickly the first wave with spells, standing in the center platform is better ; if not, you can try to stand in the south of the room (ie. between the watchers) and kill the casters first, the warriors will have problem finding a path to reach you, so it is relatively easy to block temporarily one entrance with a summon and make most of the warriors turn around the table (to try to reach the second entrance).
  2. I have done more tests and I am still no sure that this is the intended behaviour, ie. normally, after you buy your first glitter-stone to Obro, the dialog used for buying this stone seems to disappear forever. However except if you want to start a collection of glitter stones, it does not matter, ie. I returned to Obro to buy a third and fourth glitter-stones, then I retrieved them (hint: there were not in my pack), and tried to finish the Glorious Spear with 4 glitter-stones, this tentative failed miserably :-~
  3. I have already sent the email :-~ But I included in this mail some other minor potential problems so maybe it can be still useful (or not): I found that I have bought two glitterstones to Obro and that I can still buy a third one, unsure if this is normal. in The Flint Pit, it is possible to avoid the initial dialog and the initial combat, ... . So if you come back after killing the boss (to retrieve the chest's contents, to complete the second Khol's quest), you can be welcomed by the boss (which is already dead). in Fort Haven, Khol is sitting behind/inside one of my chest... I guess that he came back to Fort Haven after I have already created a chest in his planned position, this may be a problem different to placing a chest/shop on top of people...
  4. Hello, as I am finishing a game, I tried to reproduce this problem and I was successful, so I will send a bug report to support@spiderwebsoftware.com with my zipped game... Note: - I make Silven my vassal in Ahriel without supporting the Blessed side, no cheat code but I cleared the zones in a very unusual ordering and get/reported many quests very late (mainly to avoid gaining too much experience too soon).
  5. Also on Torment, the first phase was long but quite uneventful. Basically, always buffed, I keep one skeleton alive near Shubael (ie. I summon a new skeleton just after the previous dies) and pummel Shubael from distance ; I also retract in the corridor/entrance room when the whelping dragons appeared (to kill them one by one). The only noticeable events were that two times Shubael summoned a construct near my party (so I killed them), two times she pulled my priest (so he moved back to his position in the next turn) and that a whelping dragon appeared almost at the end (either he was deaf or a summon is triggered after a while). I finished this phase using ~1/3 of my energy: 3 Haven's Might, 2 heals, 2 cures and a lot of skeleton's summons. Then I used 9 energy potions so that each characters regain almost all their energies. The second phase was shorter but more anarchic because sometimes, I can not kill a salamander fast enough, so it jumped and stunned one character. Basically, I remain buffed at good distance from Shubael letting her play with a skeleton and when there is nothing more urgent to do, I attack her from distance ; ie. I prioritised summoning a new skeleton near Shubael when the previous skeleton dies, rebuffing the party when the previous buff ends, healing a character if one has too little life point, attacking the salamander at arc/wand's distance of the party and finally attacking Shubael from distance. I finished with almost half of my energy. Notes: I do this combat with a level 20 party ; but if this zone is similar to the other Nisse's zone, the monsters' level do not seem to scale with the party level, so it is better to do it with a party at level 23, I also forget to take my scrolls: I never used them so I stacked them in some chests for the big occasions and I discovered in the third floor that I did not have taken any of them :-~ in the second phase, Shubael uses evasion/shield spell (she was shielded about 1/3 of the time) but I did not see any difference between the beginning and the end of the combat ; maybe because she was not in the center of her zone but had moved near the south wall.
  6. I have cleared many times this zone in two steps(mainly because I did not check the last building with my first party and after, with a singleton, ...) and when I went back to the fort, I get a second quest saying that I must investigate the zone near Murkhala as something odd is still happening here... So I supposed that doing it in two steps was the normal way to do it:-)
  7. You can do it in two steps: first step kill the bandits in the basement (I think that this gives access to a chest), second step, go back to your fort and try to pass the Rouche Crossing (without killing the bandits which are in the inn). The second step can be a little rough: to pass this level easily, now I revert to a singleton which can launch teleport and summon a skeleton: I go near the position which makes the first group hostile, go in fight mode, summon a skeleton near this group, haste myself, then I move forward four moves toward the exit and teleport myself after the end of this group(now hostile) then I continue escaping using teleport until I reach the exit, if you want to pass this level normally, you must equip your characters with the best equipment possible. Knowing the two positions, which make the first group hostile and the second group appears, can help to be in good position when these battles begin. Notes: concerning the monsters' level, I would say that the formula is almost always maximum(level of characters, level of dungeon) with level of "Rouche Crossing" is ~16. generally, I prefer to finish the difficult dungeons as soon my characters reach the level of the dungeon. Concerning Rouche Crossing, now I pass it as soon as I finish Gannelspan to see if Nagafen is feasible. to revert to a singleton, you can simply disable 3 characters in a fort, then reactivate them after you pass Rouche Crossing.
  8. I just test the beginning with a singleton as veteran, cleaning the port seems relatively feasible with the equipment found in the Haven fort chest: After I decided that I was strong enough to build my second fort without finishing the Miranda's tutorial(ie. without creating any smith, any apothecary, ..) I will now switch back to try to finish my game with a singleton in normal which advances nicely: I have rebuild all the forts, clearing most dungeons in Ukat and Vol and I am beginning to clear the dungeons in the second zone of Ahriel. Concerning finishing a game with a singleton in veteran mode: I suppose that with two forts clearing most of the dungeons in Haven is feasible (this was not too difficult in normal with one fort). After I do not know if opening the Ukat gate will be possible (ie. it was very hard in normal with one fort) and after the Ahriel gate (ie. it was very hard in normal with three forts but at this point of the game, building the second fort in Vol must be possible).
  9. Why that? Some monsters are so big that they could be slow. I only wanted to say that I never cast a slow spell on these mine boars. This is completely unrelated; right clicking is right clicking whatever the keyboard you are using. You might try and use a two or three button mouse with your mac; it would make right clicking a lot easier. I probably need to check how the secondary click is defined in System Preferences 🙂 ie. I almost never need to do a right click, so...
  10. I am not expert: I only finished all quests on casual with a singleton, and almost all quests with full party on normal with suboptimal equipment and spells: in normal, I do not solve the Charm's puzzle and I switched in casual for the final battle (my equipment and my spells were visibly too suboptimal). First, I will recommend to use/buy the best armors/weapons possibles and place rune/augment on all your weapons/armors and if you have keep it, to give Fool arc to one of your characters (normally, the negative effects must be quite minors and making a monster bleeding at distance without spending energy is good), get some potions, scrolls... and have full energy before starting a dungeon. So my non expert hints/experiences on casual:
  11. It could be but you could not know about that. Did you check the speed bonus of the monsters you say were not behaving normally? You can do that by right-clicking on them. Sorry, I do no not check the speed monster bonus, but as I do not slow them, I suppose that it was normal. Notes: - I never succeeded right-clicking on a monster, probably either because I play on a macbook with the trackpad or because I play with an azerty keyboard, - I also experiment some time gaps that are related (I suppose) to monsters outside of the screen which try to move, but I do not think that there are related to the three missing players - I also find other places where larger monsters can not get in contact, sometimes mine boars in the outside but in general this concerns nagas, slimes, ... so they can use other methods to attack. In Ashen foundry (at least in casual), the existence of a safe method that makes 90% of the monsters (including the boss) without attack, surprises me, ... - concerning the rescue of the soldiers, I have before played a full party in normal, and I had the impression that they were more easier to be rescued ; probably because they begin with less life points in casual, so the narrow range corresponds to less life points. This can also be related to the fact that I want to clean this zone earlier and my level was lower.
  12. This is not related to the speed's problem.
  13. I just finished this game in casual playing a singleton: full victory, finishing all quests, choosing the Owen, Brokk(Queen), Silven as vassals... I tried to get rapidly the Fool's Arc (which is a game's changer), so I do some quests in the Ukat region's with a very low level, maybe this can explain the following problems: - I find Ashen Foundry trivial: - in Nagafen, I had some problems with the "returning soldiers quest", ie. in a first try, I bless myself and I end up massacring each soldiers in one shot, in a second try, I do not bless myself, but I still massacre half of them using a basic dagger (which seems odd in casual setting) Killing Shubael the Blind was very challenging, but I was found the final battle deceiving, ie. before this battle, I finally decide to upgrade my equipment, place augments/runes, .., choose the charms and the potions that I want to keep for this battle, and I finish this battle using only one half of my energy, using no potion, ....
  14. Personally, I find the final combat very deceiving: - I position correctly the first mirror, - then in combat mode using adrenaline rush, I position the second mirror and I move my party near to the east wall, - I exit combat mode and wait until the crystal soul dies ie. it seems that if the party is far enough to the crystal soul, the crystal soul does nothing but take dommage :-~ Note: - In the slime pit, when I kill the alien slime, this seems to kill all the monsters on the dungeon ; as I have not explored all the dungeon, when I explored a new zone, a message often appeared saying that I will encounter some XXX monsters (even if this zone is now empty...)

    French ?

Yes, effectively this is a font problem :-~ I do some digging and find the file G290.png which is clearly used to store the font at least on OSX, ie. I tried to modify this file and the messages became "garbage"...

    French ?

I do not know if Avadon can display accented characters ; ie. on OSX, I tried to translate some sentences, but even changing the encoding, I do not manage to display any accented characters :-~
  19. For the Reproducing Bulwark, you may want to see this thread, http://www.spiderwebforums.com/forum/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=225809#Post225809, ....
  20. After doing the 2 Orian Quests and getting the rewards, I speak again to Eye Acadia to see if she can help me to find the Hidden Ogres. She can not, but she gives me again (and again) the 2 Orian Quests to do, some experience and the corresponding rewards when I say that I have already done them...
