  1. Not as fast as accidentaly attaking Mekken in the beggining, but Rawal is a leader (even if he is bad at it) and you do quests for him, and then he asks you to join him, and then you get an ending (even if it's not very good.).
  2. Maybe, but since he's running away while casting fear, thats a little hard for me. What I found works is you go in backwards, kill all his servents in the rooms beyond him, then go over to him, start the battle, and use the wand of death, and when he runs away, I don't end the battle, then I catch up, use the wand of death again, he runs, I catch up, and then I finally kill him with the wand of death.
  3. Yes, and there is a good sword there, and if you can kill the patchworks, great experience. So I count it as a zone. Quote: The game will take you many hours to play, and that’s only with one character. With six classes, differing sects that open up different maps, and dozens of endings, the complete experience requires an investment not in hours, but days. Does he expect to spend nearly $30 on a game and finish the entire thing with all the endings in only a few hours?
  4. Where would you put that? Anyway, if madrigan bumped his stats up enough, he wouldn't need it.
  5. On my first play through, I killed Dorkias, and he was very hard, and I did it on Casual/Normal, can't remember which. On second, I played torment after using editor on my characters and killed Redmark, but even so, I think that if I didn't do that and played on the same level, Redmark would still have been easier.
  6. I wouldn't have won anyways... I tried creating a PC to go for Rawal and not cheating, but the ultimate strength looming on the horizon became to much for me to resist, and even though I haven't cheated nearly as much as the prievious games, I have still cheated. I'm out of it, for I'm sure that I won't be able to resist long enough to complete the game.
  7. But you can still do both by coming back afterwards and then killing them. Gets you even more experience, if you survive the battle.
  8. Thats why I suggested Rawal, you start his quests early, and there is no last battle so you don't have to spend a lot of time training.
  9. Quote: Maybe others in remote areas as well could be easy targets. The strange man overcharging for opening those doors with the lame canister and recipes? Or the swamp herbs guy, wife, and soldiers, perhaps? Probably, and there are many more of them, all you have to do is make sure you save before the fight, and then go about and see if killing those people has brought about any negative changes. Quote: I'm not terribly homicidal, as it turns out. I cringe at having to kill either side in the Free Camp Danir quest. I kind of like killing rogue roaming beasts and then doing sabotage-type stuff for factions. This war-time theme and killing of *nice* people kind of wears on me. I also get a guilty conscience killing for a nice tunic or shield, too (which I did in both cases). Well, killing is how you get alot of experience and some of the best items in the game. If you kill a lot, it might make it easier for you to kill people who wouldn't normally want to kill you. Quote: Okay, if what you really want is to finish with a too-low character and move on, the easiest/safest way would probably be to edit an item you're wearing to butch you up. As an ultimate scriptor myself, I know how much scripting can help blast through the game. But a lot of other people would rather go through the game without scripting, so not to many will probably listen to that post. But then again, I not sure how many of you out there are scriptors.
  10. I know, but there are a few groups of people throughout the game that, if you kill them, no one cares at all. Most of them you will never here about them if you don't explore and find them yourself. There was this one place around the bottom of Mera that had a little place that sold pods, if they let you in. In there was also a nice crafting item, so I stole it, killed all those people, and it had absolutly no effect on the rest of the game.
  11. Quote: The reviewer seems to have just played the demo which restricts the information that he had. It explains the worm comment since they are in 5 of the 9 demo zones. If you don't know what to do in the game, Jeff's helpful hints in the instructions don't always help that much. I agree with what you said...but...there are 10 demo zones, not 9.
  12. Quote: Doom Warrior, in past games killing friendlies did have a potential impact on the way your sect viewed you. I'm not sure about G5 in this regard, but I would personally be loathe to kill friendlies as I would fear it might impact my standing with the sect and possibly my ending. Oh, I know that, I just wish that you could get a good ending by killing everyone. Plus, if you did do that, you wouldn't have to worry about any factions; they would no longer exist. Quote: I would start over and get a Shaper character. Lifecrafter, Shaper, or Shock Trooper will do. I personally like the Shock Trooper because she has an extra point in strength and more health. If you really pump up the intelligence and a Shaping skill (I recommend Battle), there is no way to lose the game. By the end you can have some rothizons, war tralls, wingbolts, kryshakks, etc. Powerful creations make all the difference. You can be able to shape all creations with a minimum skill of 3 in the shaping catagories, pumping those skills makes them stronger, but only noticeably somewhere around 10.
  13. With my characters I tend to just delete the letters of their names until they are something short and easy to say, and then that will be their name. I am very picky with items: I hate useing potions and crystals ( that includes knowlegde brews and crystals), so I always end up with a lot of them, and for picking up items to sell, I got in the habit ( somehow, I don't know why) of storing all my loot in my first character's inventory. Even if it got full, I hardly ever put the loot in the other inventories.
  14. There still should be an optional ending that you can only get once everyone that you can possibly meet has been killed. That would be my prefered ending. Wipe the slate so clean, it's not there anymore.
  15. What about Rawal? Even though he isn't listed as a faction leader, he still leads you to an ending.
  16. Something else you could do to get exp is if there is a group of friendly anything that you come across, kill them. That is, if it doesn't have any negative reprecussions on your character, and if they don't give any quests, there is no need for them to live and be in your way.
  17. Quote: Well, yes, a party of 6 would make the game easier than a party of 4. A party of 12 would make the game easier than a party of 6. Where do you draw the line? A party of 6 would make things easier and a bit better, even though there would definitaly have to be more enimies about also. A party of twelve, however, would be illogical. With the weapons and armor, I tend to give the best to my first character, and let the rest slowly dribble through the ranks until it hits my fourth, who usually doesn't have that good of stuff. If I had twelve, at end game my last character would probably have only the most basic armor and a weak weapon, with almost no good spells. Since there is never to much money, it would be extremely hard to buy good things for the later people. The extra people to attack with and meat shields might be good, but the group of people would be way to big.
  18. Well... I think that if you have a piece of equipment that has +10 armor and +10 stun resist and another piece that has +6 armor and +2 strength and +1 dex (I'm just giving a example, I don't know if that exists), I would take the second piece.
  19. You could do that, but I prefer plain old no reputation at all.
  20. Yes, but it would be easier if you could have basically different characters,so you could pump a few stats skyhigh instead of spreading them out more. Plus, it would make combat a bit easier, being that there are more of you.
  21. Ah, the endless knowledge... To bad there isn't an endless supply of ingredients.
  22. Quote: Once you complete Alwan's Mission to the Drakons you get his pass that will let you get through the Perikalia Orchards to Dera Reaches. But you have to remember to specifically ask for it. Yes, but to get that option, you have to complete the Gazuki Uss mission, thus getting reputation. Quote: It's only needed if you want to join Alwan or Ghaldring, I think. You can get to the Dera Reaches just by killing the guards in Perikalia Orchards, right? Thats probably true, but I prefer to make it so that fewer people hate me.
  23. In the game, there is only one area where you absolutely have to get a reputation to move on in the game. That is when you are talking to Alwan when you come back from Gazuki Uss. Even in other places, you don't have to get a reputation to move on, even if you do miss out on certain things. You could get no reputation (except for Alwan) and have a bit of leadership, so you could switch more easily. But what I did was that I got no reputation at all, high leadership, saved, and then created some save files that have the faction leaders names on them. Then in the save file, I just joined the corresponding leader, so I saw all the endings, and if I want, I can still go back to a time when I wasn't in any faction.
  24. Maybe you did something that makes them not trust you, like kill Platono(sp?) for Taygen, and lie about Gazuki Uss and get caught for Alwan. But if you do start over, try putting a bit more into leadership (though you don't have to) and not get as much reputation for rebels or shapers.
  25. No, I was wanting the ability number of create Ornk so I can learn it sooner.
