  1. Nikki, it's this gosh-darned younger generation. *What? Hey! Hey you! Get off my lawn!!*
  2. It's all my fault. 1) This thread was intended to prevent topic drift elsewhere. Thus, I figured it needed its own healthy does of liquor topic drift. 2) I like to complain about people. That sounds delightful. Actually.
  3. Yes, Alorael has the highest post count. From the main forum page, you can see a list of top overall posters. In fact, Alorael's post count is sort of a theme here at Spiderweb.
  4. My last post could have been a non-binary milestone. It was a prime number. I've decided to wait until 8191. Because Mersenne Primes. In other news, I shall never make a milestone post. Because the internet will end before I get to 8191.
  5. Only in countries that don't use the same bass-ackward system that the US uses.
  6. Nonsense. What is this sorcery? Facebook is invading?
  7. Dikiyoba has said everything that I have to say. Except this: thanks for the +1 opportunity! Maybe someday I'll make a 01001101011010010110110001100101011100110111010001101111011011100110010100100000011101000110111101110000011010010110001100101110
  8. I just did some looking, and it does indeed turn out that both Visa and Mastercard merchant-card agreements prohibit the refusal of sale when ID is not presented. While I acknowledge that this is binding, I still think that it's stupid. Electronically recorded signatures are horrible, and many people just scribble. With the amount of credit card fraud going on, this restriction seems unfair to retailers. (Also, people shouldn't take their frustration out on the employee. Such policies come from corporate offices, and complaints should be taken up with said offices as well as the card company.)
  9. Oh, well look at that. I completely missed the bit where he's planning on releasing them at the same time. My bad
  10. That's, uh, sort of the opposite of what The Mystic said. Because many bugs are fixed in the mac beta test, windows testers only have to worry about porting bugs, not other bugs or, perhaps more significantly, balance.
  11. No one in my family can really keep plants alive. However, my mom got an orchid a while back, and it blooms often and beautifully. Plus orchids are just awesome.
  12. Maryland recently changed its tobacco laws, requiring that the customer's age be entered at point of sale. Needless to say, the older population wasn't too happy. I never had to deal with tobacco, but when my company decided to start carding for all credit purchased over $25. Countless people have sworn at me or just walked out. People are delightful! Edit: you should have known better. Starting a topic to remedy the drifting of other topics? A perfect recipe for drift.
  13. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Statistical_significance
  14. This thread makes me sad. I think I've been here for twice as long as Trenton… My posting frequency has been pretty minimal lately. (You're welcome.)
  15. The latest Chrome, on a macbook pro running 10.7.5. EDIT: this also happens on firefox.
  16. *Bumping* because this is still an issue, and it actually prevents me from liking certain posts when they have quotes in them.
  17. I didn't have my ten-year molars at that point...
  18. I'm not a morning person. It normally takes me a long while to wake up and get going. That said, on occasion, I'll go to bed earlier and wake up nice and early just because. I still take my morning at a leisurely pace, but I'm much happier. That happens every, say, one day in six months.
  19. Lilith's perfect balance of sweet and tart is not what most people would consider a balance.
  20. According to a friend from Texas, the state law pretty much says you can shoot a person who is on your property if you feel reasonably threatened. I won't be visiting Texas anytime soon. Um... I'm just going to leave this here. If you think that gun is the absolute only way to achieve self defense, then I suggest you google "self defense." In fact, let me google that for you.
  21. Quick note: I've noticed that with some posts, the "like this" button gets mushed underneath the quote options. It seems to happen when there is quoted text. The "like this" button gets pushed down to accomodate the text, but the post box itself isn't tall enough. There are several examples in this thread alone, such as Dantius's post (#23) and Tyran's post (#12). In case it doesn't show up for other people, here's a picture. (by the way, this is in the default, Spiderlicious.)
  22. Paradox is cool, but I like to see the thread name in each post box, so I'll be sticking with Spiderlicious.
  23. Paradox? OldSchool? What is this mod sorcery?
  24. Oh hey. My quarter system actually lines up with everyone's semesters right now. Honors Gen Chem (2nd of a 3 part sequence) Math for PhySci (1st of a 2 part sequence) Core Humanities and Social Science classes (both 2nd of 3 part sequences) 4 academic courses is considered full-load here; I can't take more without paying additional tuition. Also, can you tell that my university likes sequences?
  25. As a note, our power gtid is remarkably efficient. Transformers opperate at well over 90% efficiency, and they allow us to drastically resice the power lost due to resistance over long distances.
