  1. Okay, I uploaded it somewhere else instead. It can be found here. The link is valid for 86 days from the day of this post, so if someone wants to host it somewhere that would probably be useful.
  2. Images seem to have been disabled since the forum upgrade for some reason – I recommend using changing your tags to tags. And... that's an... interesting... shirt... I think...
  3. In Exile 2 or 3, don't delete any of the characters in the prefab party. Instead, simply edit them. This will give you more total skill points. Unless you prefer to have less skill points to work with, of course. As for party composition, I usually give everyone 3 or 4 intelligence and some knowledge of magic, because at the beginning I think magic is more effective than melee combat. However, usually three of them are more specialised in spells whereas the other three have decent combat abilities as well.
  4. Now I need to figure out how to find it again... it's not linked from your homepage anywhere.
  5. There seems to be a problem with saving. It doesn't seem to work at all.
  6. Oh, I get what you mean now. Doesn't BoA do it that way? It's a good idea, then (though it would be a bit of a waste of space in a town with few or no fields). Also making fields stackable, as you said. I'll add it under Major Changes.
  7. Originally Posted By: Evnissyen Plus, I'm not sure if the 30,000 coin limit that applies in later games applies in G1. Well, considering that the 30,000 coin limit exists as far back as the Exile series, I'd say it probably applies in G1. (I think it was actually lower in E1&2.)
  8. Why wouldn't you be qualified? Have you not played the games? I think that's the only reason to be not qualified...
  9. #1 under Major Changes is "Remove all arbitrary limits", which would be implemented by using dynamic rather than static memory allocation. As for an E2 style map... what do you mean by that?
  10. Well? It would be nice if this would eventually come together properly... doesn't anyone want to write an article or anything?
  11. That's not a bug – it's supposed to work that way. If you want a terrain change to be kept upon returning to the town, you need to set up the town entry node to change the terrain if necessary. Edit: I suppose it could be considered a feature request, but I'm not really sure how it could be implemented while retaining the old behaviour.
  12. He doesn't like you to post error messages on the forum like that, due to privacy concerns. So, perhaps edit it out?
  13. Looks like the site's down – I get a list of PHP errors.

  15. I downloaded this a while ago too. It's actually in DocMAKER format, which is a standalone Macintosh application. Unfortunately, it doesn't work on an Intel Mac, which is what I have, so I took some time to convert it to HTML format. It wasn't that hard, since all the information is stored in the resource fork in 'TEXT', 'styl', and 'PICT' resources. The result is probably not quite the same as the original, since I wasn't sure exactly where each picture was intended to appear in the text and hence had to guess, but at least all the information will be present. I will upload it as soon as I can connect to filespace.org (it's not responding currently). It'll probably be at http://www.filespace.org/Celtic_Minstrel/exile2items.zip . Since you're a Windows user, you won't be able to open the alias (≈ shortcut). You can replace it with a Windows .lnk shortcut – it points to the "files/1.splash.html". I'll even include a .ico for the icon it uses.
  16. I don't really think there's any good reason to include the complete item stats in the town in every location where it appears. If you want a custom item, just create a new item type and only use it once. Increasing the 500 (or whatever it is) limit on the number of item types that can be created would be nice though.

This seems a rather inefficient way of doing it – which is probably why he changed it in Exile 3 and BoE.

That's rather a surprise... but it didn't have the surface graphics, so I suppose it's possible. I'm sure Exile 3 must have used a lot more types. Very logical way of doing it.

  21. It seems okay to me, though I generally use the keypad.
