I did it once on Torment with a Shock Trooper using a bunch of Corrupted Thahds. They're the rothghroth equivalent at that part of the game (and they have unnaturally high energy resistance).

Lies, there is so much a X in Avernum as there is in Exile. They both like anvils too.
But how about the Elder Scrolls series?
Not that I have something to say about it. Just thought it was a nice addition to the RPG-talk maelstrom you have here.
Yes. I bet you're thinking of making the Mercuric Boots minor artifact. Do so without hesitation. It leads to one of the better boots in the game (Assassin Boots). To be able to do two actions in a turn is > any other bonuses.
Oh wow. That just sucks. Even if you're Rebel-extreme, I'm pretty sure you wont get hostility at that level.
Hmmm, all I can think of is that you prolly got caught snooping around Alwan's library.
The Freezing Blade, though, curses on hit and can be gotten REALLY early. As in you can go for it after the first area. And yeah, the Slow enhancement sucks hard.
Naw, don't bother. The Stunning Blade doesn't scale as much as the other better swords (which are multitudinous).
I find the Freezing Blade(with onHit:Slow enhancement) better than the Flaming one.
