  1. Quote: You're talking about a BoE scenario? This is the BoE forum. I haven't bought BoA yet and I don't relish the idea of making 3D graphics, or designing in script. I don't know if I'll ever switch to BoA. I'd rather wait for Pyg.
  2. Yes, TM, Frame Animation just like The Creator explains it in his Animations utility. (I feel you have no confidence in my ability to create a descent scenario as a first try.) And the 'stairway bug' as in the tendency for a stairway node to immediately call a special in the town you are entering if it is on the same square as the stairway node used to get to the town. Drizzt\'s page explains it. What do you call it? LD: I don't know if it's more the challenge or the book that I love. I tell you though, the most challenging part of it is trying to concentrate on it with all my kids. Three times my two year old has just closed the editor when I got up to do something else. Luckilly it's always been saved, but one of these times it won't be. (and you've eaten my brain twice... cut it out!)
  3. I'm doing Redwall first. Salamandastron is later in the series and I like to do things in order. I've got the layout of the Abbey done for three levels of it anyway. It took me a while to figure out how to beat the stairway bug. At present I am working on some Frame Animation. I have dialogues written for all the characters for the first day of exploration. I'm no where near done but I think it's a good start. Maybe I'll give you a sneak preview when the Abbey's first day is complete. You are my motivation after all.
  4. Quote: Gawd!!! Can you imagine if everone made a scenario of their favorite books? Yeah! There'd be a lot more scenarios with at least half-descent plots.
  5. Just getting this on the front page again since I still need help. The lost lost_king scenarios have been found! *crowd roars in anticipation* Now we can all revel in their horribleness. Only six scenarios still missing.
  6. you could start by looking at some graphics that are already made. Either copy some from your game or download a custom pic from the web. Open them with Paint or a similar graphics program and fiddle around with them. Look at them at 800% zoom to see how they are colored/shaded. Then try to draw your own.
  7. That's the message you get when everyone's dumbfounded, or no one has spell casting abilities. I don't know why it would display otherwise.
  8. I have been told by some and shown by others' questions that few people really know what I'm doing with this post so I'm going to try to explain it better. Ever since Brett opened Alexandria, he has asked for the community's help in 'submitting' scenarios and certain information about them to help make Alex a searchable database. If you haven't yet, please click on Alex\'s Submission Form to get a better idea of what it is to 'submit' a scenario to Alex. The scenarios on the list are those which I have found to be missing from Alex's database and still need to be submitted. I have included with them all the information needed that can be found without actually playing the game. The information that is still needed is; # indoor sections, # outdoor sections, time it takes to play in days, and some still need a brief description. This information can only be found by playing the scenario so I'm asking the community for help. If you would like to help this is what you do. 1. First voulnteer for a scenario in a reply to this post. 2. I will unbold the title of that scenario so that others know that it is being taken care of. There is no time limit, take as long as you need. 3. While you are playing the scenario, keep track of how many indoor sections there are (this includes every time you need to re-explore a town because of an event), how many outdoor sections there are, and how long it takes you to play it. 4. When you have finished playing the scenario post the information you have found with a brief description of the scenario and I will submit it at Alex. OR Submit the scenario yourself using the form linked to above and post that you have done it. 5. I will delete that scenario from the list. 6. Repeat as often as you like. Thank you.
  9. Copied from my Lyceum post: BoE will only die if those of us who love it let it die. If you abandon your scenarios, it will die sooner. (or more likely, it will go on in spite of your abandonment) But I still think you should keep working on your scenarios. Shyguy admitted he was still going to check in every now and again (and maybe even write another scenario), he just needs a little vacation. Who can blame him after Spiderweb's insults? Sometimes a vacation is good for the soul. It helps you realize what you truly love. But Shyguy is right, in reality this game is not, and should not be the center of everyone's lives. It is a phase, a fad. Not in a bad way but in a way that a person can look back on with fond memories and perhaps share with the next generation. New players will replace the old, the inexperienced will become the veterans. So lets forget about the 'death' of BoE and instead concentrate on making today alive. Added note: JUNE!!! I only have until June? I hope I can finish it in time.
  10. I've reworked the list to make it easier to navigate. I've also included all the misc info I can find so it's easier for you to submit one to Alex. Can I get any volunteers to take a scenario and play it? Again, keep track of #of towns/dungeons, #of outdoor sections, and how long it takes to play. Some scenarios still need a short Description too.
  11. Which is why we need to get all the scenarios on the list into Alexandria's DB.
  12. Thank you, NK0P is taken care of. It might be a good idea for the person playing it to give a brief description too. I just copied what was up at Spiderweb for this one, but it'd be nice for those not there. PS. Hey Brett, I think I spelled his name wrong on the submission form. If you can take care of that before you post it, I'd be much obliged.
  13. I want everything you got. And I'm gonna keep everything I get so there's no more of this 'treasure hunt' when someone wants a scenario. Is three back-up CD's too many?
  14. Go here for a walkthrough that you can read. BoE Walkthroughs
  15. /me taps foot Well, now I know you all are looking at the list cause you're making conversation about it but I have yet to see anyone post that they've submitted any info to Alex. Come on people, don't make me and Brett do all the work. Get on you're duffs and play one of the scenarios on the list. Keep track of how long it takes you, how many towns/dungeons there are, and how many outdoor sections. The rest of the information needed can be found a bit faster, if not easier and I'd be willing to look up the rest if you'll just post those three things. Will it suck? Maybe. Is it an inconvience? Yes. Will it be worth it? Absolutely. Now just do it... Please.
  16. These scenarios are already up at Alex but the links for them don't work and I haven't found any other working links for them. If you have any of these scenarios please e-mail them to me. Thank you. Isle of Serin – by Chris Lawson It – by Joel O’Brien The Killing – by The Doomguard The Lost Island – by Brave Sir Robin
  17. I went through Alexandria and checked all the links. Many need to be updated but #1 and 5 seem to be working now. I plan to e-mail Brett with the list including any good links I find for them.
  18. Bummer man, I'm glad you're not going to give up. Live and learn, and learn some more.
  19. Why not include them? If someone wants them where else are they going to look? Plus A Shopping Scenario, and Party Maker are already up at Alex. If we don't put them at Alex we should at least have them available all together somewhere else.
  20. It seems that all the download sites are not going to post correctly, but I have already forwarded the list to Brett, so go ahead and send all the information without the download site to him.
  21. I have gone through Alexandria and the rest of the web searching for those scenarios that are missing. There are many and I need your help. In order for Alexandria to be searchable, each scenario needs lots of information submitted with it. Please help me gather all the information needed for each of these scenarios and submit them to Alex. When you have submitted all the information for one post it and I will remove that scenario from the list. Together by doing one at a time, we can help bridge the gap to making Alexandria truly comprehensive. Even if you can just do one in a day it will help. If anyone has one of the scenarios that does not have a download site, please e-mail it to me I will forward it to Brett. Thank you all. Scenarios that Alex is missing and their download sites. I have reworked the list and put it in alphabetical order. I have included all the misc info I can find to make it easier for someone to submit one to Alex. I included any Descriptions I could find written by the author some paraphrased, and I know some of the e-mail addresses are different for the same person but I just included the e-mail I found with that scenario. I have no idea if any of these e-mails work. 22. Yea, we're either too busy playing a scenario or too busy building a new one. Personally, even if I don't post, I still check the boards at least twice a day.
