Curious Artila Blacknight
While rowing around the area before going down the rapids, I find Goodwife Amber (I think her name was - the one who tries to kill you with tea and who summons up a shade) who has a crystal in a jar under her house. The crystal can't be removed, and smashing it seems to have no effect. So what's to be done here? Is this crystal important? Is it removable later? Understated Ur-Drakon Sudanna
Smashing the crystal releases her from the mind control that's making her kill you.
Curious Artila Blacknight
Ahh! I guess I never questioned her again after smashing it. I was rather hoping it would be usable in some way. I think I'll just leave her mind controlled. That's what she gets for trying to tea me to death...
Hatchling Cockatrice Randomizer
She does reward you with herb ingredients for potions if you release her.
Hatchling Cockatrice Alorael at Large
I think it's raw pragmatism. Heavily armed adventurers you just tried to poison? Give them stuff so that they'll hopefully let you live. Of course, she'd be much better off if she gave ingredients and promised more after the completion of a quest. There's nothing like quests to save NPCs from rampaging PCs. —Alorael, who is in fact somewhat surprised that there aren't clever characters out there offering quests that can't be finished just to save themselves from wholesale slaughter. I collected like 80 by the end of the game before I realized that I was just toting around an absurd amount of weight for no reason. Yay new encumbrance rules! Well-Actually War Trall Emperor Tullegolar
Should have read the 'things you will need' thread. Those threads are seriously the only reason I still come here.
Hatchling Cockatrice Randomizer
You should see the fun beta testers have in deciding what to keep for possible future item quests. One tester had cornered the bags of flour market and was carting around enough to feed an army in hopes that they would be useful.
Hatchling Cockatrice Alorael at Large
The only reason the brick collecting quest isn't there anymore is because I broke it in beta. —Alorael, who is, of course, lying. But it's a good story, so he's sticking with it.
Articulate Vlish playongrass
Okay, so how does one go to the threads... e.g. "things you'll need" thread... yes, I am a newbee... kinda...
Magnificent Ornk Dikiyoba
There's a link to the strategy thread in the forum header with some useful threads (including one on the things you will need). Dikiyoba.
