Experience bugged?

I've noticed some anomalies in a few geneforge games,such as experience for killing fyoras going 50, 30, 1, 1, 5 during successive character levels in G2

 

And pretty much everything giving ~40 exp in G5, which leads to rapid leveling indeed

The experience decreases as you gain levels compared to the monster level. So if you keep killing the same monster as your level increases the experience drops to nothing. Geneforge 1 gave you that as a depressing message.

 

Geneforge 5 has a slower rate of experience drop off so you can get 5 more levels before that monster gives nothing.

50/30/1/1/5 is broken.

 

Usually it goes something like :

 

50/30/16/10/5

Did you try un-installing it and re-installing it?

It's not a corrupted file or anything that could be solved by a reinstall. It's just a minor bug because the game calculates experience gain from certain enemies in a weird way.

 

Dikiyoba has noticed the 50/30/1/1/5 patten as well, but it's nothing to get too upset about.

I remember seeing that pattern as well. Is it perhaps zone specific? Are the fyoras in the later zones higher level, causing you to get more experience?

There are higher level fyoras in G2, i.e. the charged/enraged variety in Beliks Crossing or the Experimental Chambers.

if they have a title then the are a different variety.
charged fyoras are not the same as fyoras
