Articulate Vlish Thirsting Gemstone
Unless I happen to be a moron and am incapable of finding said things... I don't think the Mac Steam version of Avadon has the capacity to be modded any more than the App Store version. Someone, please tell me I didn't just waste another 9.99.... Well-Actually War Trall A less presumptuous name.
I can't personally speak for this, but in Turtle's big editor, there are numerous reports from people who attest to the fact that the Steam version can in fact be edited. You may wish to double check this. EDIT: This is from Turtle's editor: Originally Posted By: The Turtle Moves FAQ Will this work with any version of the game? You may need to enter the admin password to replace the original files with the editor files.
Articulate Vlish Thirsting Gemstone
Er... I don't mean using other people's editors, I mean tracking down the folder of game files and personally altering the item stats etc.
Hatchling Cockatrice Lilith
Other people's editors are just edited versions of the game files. They haven't done anything you can't. You just have to find where those files are stored.
Hatchling Cockatrice Alorael at Large
What, exactly, is preventing you from modding? Does the game refuse to run with modified files, or are you unable to find the files you want to edit? —Alorael, who has no idea how Steam sets up the directories. On a non-Steam installation all the scripts are in the helpfully-named Scripts folder. There aren't that many folders to go through to find everything
Easygoing Eyebeast Jerakeen
Actually, the most recent Mac version (from Spiderweb anyway) doesn't have the Scripts folder. You have to right-click on the game icon and select "Show Package Contents". Then you work your way down to the resources folder, where all the scripts, sounds, and graphics are jumbled up together. Anyway, Thirsting Gemstone, the script you want (when you find the scripts) is called "avitemschars.txt"
Kyshakk Koan Juan Carlo
Program files (x86)/steam/steamapps/common/avadon the black fortress/avadon files/scripts/ All steam games are located in the /steam/steamapps/common/ folder if you ever want to find the game files. Articulate Vlish Thirsting Gemstone
@Alorael: I'm having trouble finding the scripts. @THe TUrtle Moves: When I used Show Contents on the Avadon app, abd went into resources, all I found was the icon file. Hatchling Cockatrice Alorael at Large
All right. Try searching for "avobjsmisc.txt" and it'll be in the same location as all the other scripts. —Alorael, who would also give Juan Carlo's path a try. It might be similar for Mac.
