Hatchling Cockatrice Mea Tulpa
"slartifer! slartifer! slartifer!" We shall continue in our attempt to banish the 331, now 332, soon to be 333 names of slartifer. Below, you will find a list of 58 PDNs (chronological) and 58 clues (alphabetical). These are the next 58 PDN changes, covering up until the second Darkside Loyalist Witch Hunt. Your task is to correctly identify which PDN is described by each clue. You will receive 1 point per reference correctly identified. Points will accumulate until all 333 names have been banished; and yes, there will be a prize at the end for the highest point totals. A death mask. Is there a reason for a death mask? It is barely a physical resemblance--in death, the muscles so relaxed, the face so without the animating spark. A death mask is almost an intrusion on a beautiful memory. And yet, who could throw away the casting of a loved one? Who would not want to study it longingly, as the distant freight train blows its mournful tone?

Easygoing Eyebeast Dintiradan
Hmmm... PDN rejoinder is 107. PDN; DR SPOON! is 67. The Patrick Warburton on Terror Forum doppelganger? is 114. The Not-So-Great Potato
Magnificent Ornk Dikiyoba
104. Slartinator Slarterator - Trogdor? 111. Petrificational Dilettante - Half-stonehearted 116. Black Mark Babbage Engine - Martyr-maker Dikiyoba finds this list harder than the last one.
Easygoing Eyebeast Dantius
61: Decreed by the stars above TM or Alec 65: Where Freud discovered the petrified Faithful John? 69: Line for Dantius (I really have no clue on this one, since I'm thinking what line I would pick for me, not what line you would...) EDIT: 106 is a modification of a line from l'Etranger, so that means it's paired with Stranger. I'm positive on this one. EDIT EDIT: Is 85 ironic, but self-descriptive? TRIPLE EDIT: BABIRONIA sounds like a mocked-up line from something Japanese. Is it maybe Buriki Daioh with some additions? If not, I'll go with 16-bit theme music. These are harder. I'll wait for Triumph to whittle away a few dozen before making many more guesses.
Hatchling Cockatrice Mea Tulpa
DINTIRADAN Correct -- #67 Incorrect -- #107 (though I admit that makes some sense), 114 +1 DIKIYOBA Correct -- #104, 111, 116 +3 I was particularly proud of the number of ways the clue for 116 works. DANTIUS Correct -- #61, 106 Incorrect -- #65, 69, 85 (all three of those are very specific references) +2 I will tell you that "Line for Dantius" is a clue that I wrote AFTER round 1 began. Also, since everyone seems to find these harder, I will consider adding some extra text to some of the clues. I'll put it in bold so you notice it. EDIT: Dantius, you can't pick multiple guesses for a single item at once.

Easygoing Eyebeast Triumph
105 - Invulnerable alter ego? The verbal parallel seems clear. 115 - Temporary Darkside Loyalist Witch Hunt result? I distinctly recall your using this name as sophisticated way of expressing frustration at some sort of misbehavior in a DLWH game; thus it was a result of the game. Hatchling Cockatrice Mea Tulpa
TRIUMPH Correct -- 110 +1 This comes from Marie-Louise von Franz's lecture on the Faithful John fairy tale and the significance of the king placing his old helper's petrified figure in the bedroom where he and his wife get it on.
