Garrulous Glaahk Venom
What do the game difficulties mean, exactly? I just switched from hard to normal and I seem to notice that I do more damage, receive less damage, and maybe enemies have less hitpoints. Does anybody know the exact effects? Hatchling Cockatrice Alorael at Large
I believe it just alters enemies' levels, which in turn affect their defense, hit points, and damage output. —Alorael, who isn't actually sure that the enemies take less damage, just that they can absorb a lot more. Hatchling Cockatrice Aoslare
I tested this a long time ago and couldn't find any damage adjustments beyond what would be explained by level-based changes to strength. However, we're talking A4 or maybe even G3 here, and I'm not sure how conclusive my conclusions were either. More recently, somebody asserted there is actually a percentage shift in damage received. So it's hard to say, really. It definitely does affect enemy levels and basic stats though, which is why Daze (for example) is less likely to work on harder levels. Garrulous Glaahk Venom
Ok, so a level change would explain what I've been seeing. What I REALLY want to know is if it changes how much XP you get. Or is that based on level as well? Basically I'm trying to figure out if there is any point to playing on a harder difficulty. Aside from the "thrill of the challenge".
Magnificent Ornk Dikiyoba
You get the same amount of experience regardless of what difficulty you are playing at. The only point of playing at a harder difficulty is for the extra challenge. Dikiyoba.
Ineffable Wingbolt Tirien
Only the thrill of the challenge. And for people who find normal to easy.
