  1. Yet another question from noob me... So I now have 2 items a shield and a glaive both giving + magic damage. Neither are suited for my casters and in the case of the shield since most of the staves I have found are 2 handed can not even be equipped. Does magic damage also relate to any damage done through special abilities?
  2. i like that idea too i also find it annoying that I leave on the southern or eastern and am never able to return to that eastern end so at times I have to scroll the map and just click the destination point and wait since there is nothing else to do
  3. Since there is seemingly only one entrance point from any map no matter where you leave it why is there so many exit points... ?
  4. The thing about this game that has drawn me in the most is the writing and story telling. It is rare to find this kind of vocabulary and grammatically correct writing in a game today. It is also rare to find such an intricate weaving of story. I have read everything thus far.
  5. Then holding off with runestones until midway through is a good strategy. Dex even for blademaster? So no real usage of heavy armor and a full reliance on avoidance for not being it? And it would seem that the passive column is best since vitality can only be fully restored by a pylon and there is a limited amount of points. Excluding heals it doesnt seem logical to bother with any of the non passive skills. Kind of strange since it more or less rewards a non usage of magic and skills rather than a fully utilization of them.
  6. Is there an abundance of new equipment should I be holding my runestones? There seems to be a greater ability to diversify stats so where is the best place to put them and does their benefit cap out at some point?
  7. I bumped it to torment and now only at the ogre in the wretch camp was I not basically 1-3 shotting everything. Is that normal or is the difficulty not kicking in properly?
  8. I have been able to see some of them. I am more curious if there is an abundance of them like Avernum so I know to search a lot. So far it seems the multiple paths to a goal is not as frequent in Avadon and it appears either are the secret buttons. And of course I maybe missing a great deal of them too...
  9. So compared to Avernum escape from the pit is there still a similar amount of the secret areas to find?
  10. Are there a lot less buttons to find that open secret areas compared to Avernum or are they just hidden much more? IS the max for lockpicking 4 or can I have 2 shadowwalkers and a mage all at 4 and it will reduce lockpicks by that combined amount?
  11. The thing that does not make sense is so far the game seems incredibly easy even on hard which is why it confused me. Do you know if the game gets progressively more challenging. SO far the storyline and story telling of this world draws me in just like Avernum did but the overall mechanics can be frustrating at times.
  12. I am playing on hard and it feels like easy. Does it get much more difficult. I am of course only int he first area Kva but I am one shotting packs of wolves. I came from Avernum where a pack of goblins in the beginning on hard was a force to be reckoned with. Maybe I will try out torment mode.
  13. I played Avernum now I am playing Avadon and one thing has me totally perplexed. Why is there no resting to recover health /vitality and why can I not equip scarabs and do other stuff beyond the walls of Avadon. Is this a engine path/limitation or a conscious design decision? I am sure you old timers here have a good answer so please inform me... thanks
  14. thanks but that did not work. for all the great writing and intricate story these games need some serious help in the ability to customize them and tweak the ui
  15. I am a lefty mouse and in Avernum it went off my computers settings but in Avadon it flipped them and is not functioning correctly. Any way to change these settings manually?
  16. I have also seen unique encounters do the run around scenario and the cast sound gets played as if they cast a spell sometimes.
  17. I figured they might be worded strangely and actually give those reductions which would seem better than armor% which is very cool. I like a lot of what the remix does excluding the bugs. Have to go test the sandals. Hard to truly test them though. Are warmth rings mis-labeled or do they really give 15% melee dmg?
  18. looking at quickfire sandals... do they reduce missile magical and melee damage incoming or do they reduce it outgoing?
  19. How do these work? When I res someone does it just randomly place them? Also when I end battle how do I control where I will end up so I dont get thrown around a corner and have to fight 5 new enemies when I am not ready? Also what is the point in lamps and lanterns?
  20. thanks for the info. I would go crazy infinite fangs back and forth from draco to the cave over and over. I like when people save me from myself
  21. so what is the point of focus spirit? if I use it to cure a snare or immobilize I cant move after i use it. if I wait a round I can use my priest and have the same effect. some things are very odd about movement.
  22. hmm I went back to the cave that I saved the spider named spider for the spider named spider and there is a respawning aranea in there that dropped fangs for me. So there is no limit then or no one knows?
  23. I am OCD on getting everything and clearing the quest from log but I can not get a definitive answer on how many aranea fangs are needed? Anybody got the answer for that?
  24. I been watching it and it does not seem to be from kills. By the end of my first run through 2 of my characters were around 150 exp behind the other 2. Right now 2 of them are about 60 to 70. None of them have died or when they do I run from battle and go get ressed or reload because I am ocd about clicking the green button 4 times all together.. hah
