  1. In Avernum 6 I'm pretty sure you can't kill Gladwell without first doing enough of his quests to learn his goal.

You can, but then the tower goes hostile.

I want to know his ultimate goal so I can NOT do the quests (which is what I'll do if I don't find out). Is there actually a laudible goal, or is he the evil bastich he appears to be?

In short : He wants to be the King.

  2. As noted by others, A2 and A3 have the same movement, at least on a Mac, and there was no change with a white background that I can recall on a Mac.

Well, I can't speak about the Mac, but I assure you that both these things were present on the windows version.

Also honestly I won't classify the combat change as engine downgrade, it's more of a personal preference kind of thing, other people might prefer the A3 system, so it's not a downgrade or an upgrade, it's just a change.

  3. You can move in 8 directions all the games with the Nethernum engine, so I'm not sure what you're referring to.

Try moving using keypad in A2, you move diagonally, then do the same in A3 and notice the difference. That's why we have our top sticky topic in Avernum first trilogy.

  4. Well, I think the A3 engine is worse than the A2 engine. It's a downgrade in combat. But it changes from one game to the next, for sure.

A3 had better movement(straight compared to diagonal in A2), also it didn't have that white background behind the items. I am curious as to how the A3 combat is worse than A2 though?

  5. I'd start with GF1. The engine gets better as you progress through them, unlike avernum.

Avernum engine gets better every game as well, the differences among A1-3 (and A4-6) are not huge, but they are noticeable.

  6. In G1 and G3 it really pays to invest in only one school, in G4 and G5 it's better to have a mix of different creatures since a lot of foes are too resistant to just one type of damage, basically, you can get better advice by specifically referring to the game you are playing.

  7. Ah, now I get it.

So the problem is with the eastern rivers that start from sea and end at sea.

I think I will just go with two blessings, I will give some special power to it.

  8. In real life, water can only move down elevation, and never up elevation.

I know, the point is that the water source is the one I created on the plateau and all Rivers are starting from it and moving outwards, so they aren't moving up elevation.(Something like Himalyas, lots of rivers start from there, some move south towards India, some north towards china and other countries.)

But yeah, I will give a second blessing.

  9. Sylae, I have sort of corrected the Plateau-River thingy, I'm not convinced about the "Rivers can't span a whole continent thing" though, so it's up to you if you wish to do something about it.

Moayer takes a good look at the world from his high godly abode. He might be a god but he doesn't have enough power to do what he wishes at this moment, thus he decides to bide his time for now.

  15. Kyshaaks are pretty good if you can keep them for some time , they start out weaker but eventually become better than even wingbolts, I don't have definite stats but on basis of my experience while playing I think Ur-Glaahks probably have better resistances compared to Glaahks.
