The trailer is, well, disappointing, but I agree that it couldn't have been any better with the these type of games, In my opinion SW should just steer clear of trailers, this one for example will barely get Jeff any new customers but it's quite likely to scare a few off.

In Avernum 3 one can access a secret tunnel from the outer north-west of the Portal fortress, which leads to 3 boxes(chests?), the game message popping up when you get near them states that there is a red button but that you must have D class magical protection if you intend to push it, (you instantly die without it), so does anyone know what is this "D class magical protection and where can I get it", thanks.

I don't think Int increases spell target numbers,
For some multi-target spells intelligence does increase the number of targets.

Now I'm really confused ... I've had summons killed by enemies, so clearly they must get hit. Are you saying they don't get hit if you hide and can't see them?? If so, that certainly is an exploit!!
Yes It happens, I believe it happened in A6 as well, however it doesn't seem to be a very reliable method.
-
Generally, you should try to play the games with older interfaces first, in case you aren't troubled by that just play them in any order, the spoilers are very little and have almost no effect on how much you enjoy the games.
-
-You will probably be around 5 levels lower even by endgame, even if you do bother to backtrack to the newbie areas. You might just miss out on that 7-Trall party or that level 64 Eyebeast or Rotdhizon!
Having a good creation early on does not affect a shaping oriented character's level, he is going to need some sort of creation anyway, having a tough creation might actually help you with the levels because you don't need 2 or 3 weak ones.

Very nice work, Only one I don't agree with is the not buying stuff from trainers point, there's loads of money in the game, you should be able to buy pretty much whatever you want.
-
The max. you need ever is 12, and 10 will do pretty well, 6-8 is probably what you want to get with your own skill points.
-
I basically meant it in comparison to Geneforge and Avadon, even on an absolute scale A1,2,3,4 are very clear in what's good and what's not, Empire and the other races may have some good/pitiable characters (and why not? we are talking about pretty much the whole world here) but overall they do very strongly come out as the bad guys, A5 and 6 do have some meaningful choices though.
-
Geneforge games are closer in character to Avadon with their moral ambiguity, Avernums are more like "be the good guy and save the world, and buy a house if you have some money".
-
Geneforge 1 is certainly the shortest if you only care about somehow completing the game, Avadon is the shortest if you plan to do most of the content.
Avernum 2/5/6 will probably be the ones which are the longest if you only want to complete, 3 can be done rather quickly if you want.

How? I know three canister locations, one of which is endgame. Challenge area?
You can go to the endgame area, take the canister, come out of the area and play the rest of the game.

Well, yeah, evidently the formula is not a simple base + (lvl * end) thing, there's a third term which is from what I can see, highly non-linear and most probably non-integral,it is dependent on both endurance and level and seems to achieve a minima in the middle of your table, most probably there is also some rounding up going on, which means that one can't really find the exact formula whatever the no. of data points. I don't see much problem with that either since the effect is really noticeable only at very high level and endurance.
-
For the servile with your data points the formula seems to be :
HP= 38 + (level * endurance) - ( abs (((level+10)/10)*(end-5)))
You can ignore the third term though because:-
1. It's really small and doesn't affect the formula much. (about 10 hp max. in your case)
2. I kinda guessed it instead of calculating.

For the topic title, I haven't played Exile or Nethergate, but of the rest A3 is certainly the longest.

I feel it's generally accurate, apart from higher Neuroticism than what I'd think.

I don't think there is any way , this thing bugs me a lot too.
-
The level cap is at 61, only a singleton can possibly reach it.

What does a slith do with a paintbrush that large?
-
There vare 2 other dragons you can pummel
-
Welcome to the forums.
No, unfortunately you don't get to kill Zhethron and you do have to help him quite a few times, On the bright side there is another Dragon which you can kill.
-
You can just refer to the automap on the screen, the top of the map is north, you can check the directions according to it, they can be confusing in SW games.
-
Yeah, I kept trying to decode the message, and after half an hour or so getting really frustrated started moving around randomly at which point the pathway opened.

Wait, did you change the difficulty level before or after reloading your save? The difficulty setting is stored in your savefile, so if you were on Normal when you last saved you'll still be on Normal when you reload.
So you are saying that, if I :
1. Load my save file.
2. Change the difficulty.
3. reload the file.
then the difficulty is not actually changed and I need a step in between 2 and 3 which is 2.5) save the file.
I used both these approaches and found no change.
You might actually be wrong about it though, if I follow only the steps 1,2 and 3, the preferences box still shows the difficulty having changed.
I was under the impression that hitpoints stayed the same regardless of difficulty till A5/G5 ?
I can't say about A5, but I am sure they changed in G5.

Why don't you just refer to the world map, the clams are marked in there so you will find it easy getting to them.
