This is pure torture knowing that A4 will be available soon for all you mac users. As a windows/linux user myself, just knowing that people are playing the game when I can't will be agonizing, not to mention reading about people playing it here on the boards.

Alright. I didn't zoom in, so I thought the 2 pixels were one pixel.

Quote:G768.bmp - the ladder graphic has 3 off-white pixels.

Maybe reinstalling the game would work. You can always try that.

EDIT : do you have a mac or a PC?
EDIT: I typed my email address wrong. -
This may sound like a dumb question, but how do you use the trainer?
-
Does anyone know exactly how many times you can use skribbane before becoming addicted?

Personally, I liked the yellow graphic a lot better. I even copied it over for A2, A3, and BoA. If you want to use yellow goblins, it's quite simple. Just copy G1521.bmp from the Data folder of A1 to the Data folders of A2, A3, and BoA. For A3, it has to be renamed 1521.bmp. As for the goblin fighters, you're out of luck. A1 didn't have them. I toyed with the idea of using the goblin warrior graphic from Nethergate, but the Nethergate data files are different from Avernum's.

Not remembering little details such as mayoral locations, I opened up an A2 save file to se if I could find him. Are you sure there is a mayor? I walked all throughout Mertis and didn't find a mayor. I did find "Captain Lyn" of the Avernum army in the prison building in the northeast of the town. Perhaps that's who you're looking for. I'm not sure what quest you're talking about, so more information about that might be helpful.
-
This is entirely idle curiosity. I can envison how most of the spells in Avernum would work in the real world, but how exactly would Far Sight work? I mean, it's not like people have an automap in real life.

That depends where you last saved. If you already went through the main entrance then saved, you're out of luck, but as I said before, you still get experience if he dies, so it's not that big of a deal.
-
It doesn't really matter that much if Sixus kills himself. He'll burn the documents he ran off with first, and you'll still get experience if you report back to the mayor in Almaria.
As for your other questions, the Onyx Scepter can be gotten in the Lair of Sulfras in the Empire lands to the west of Fort Remote. You'll need blue and red clearance to get there. I don't know about vampires and liches, I always just cast Repel Spirit on both. I think ice drakes are stonger, but i could be wrong. One of the Crystal Souls can be reached from the northwestern Vahnatai Lands. You can get information about it from the rebel Vahnatai fortress in the northeast tunnels of the Vahnatai lands. Go see the Vahnatai council after finding the proof, and they'll tell you what to do. Another Crystal Soul can be found in Angierach, which is also in the Empire-controlled lands to the west of Fort Remote. You'll need to talk to Renatr-Ihrno, the Vahnatai in Egli, to find out how to make Quickfire to get the Crystal Soul in Angierach. The third Crystal Soul is in Pyrog's Lair, which is northwest of the Giant Lands up in Northern Avernum. You'll need the Orb of Thralni and a Gray Pass to get there.

Is there really a tank in the Hedgemaze?

Ah, but arrows don't always work... I can't believe this happens in A4. And they're pathetically weak until you upgrade to something like a blessed longbow. And even then, they still do half the damage that good melee fighters can do. -
In Fort Dolthar in A2 (the fort in the middle of the lake northeast of Fort Emerald), there is an area in the northeast that I can see when I cast far sight, but I can't get to it. It seems to have entrances from the outside, but when I try to get there I walk out of the fort. Does anyone know how to get there?
-
Call me old-fashioned and racist, but my parties are always entirely human. I have one pole weapons fighter with skill in tool use, one ranged waepons specialist (I always try to get the Vahnatai razorblades as soon as I can. Those things rock!) with first aid, a mage with nature/cave lore and a backup specialty in melee weapons, and a priest with arcane lore and potion-making. This party configuration has gotten me through A1, A2, A3, and BoA (not to mention Nethergate) just fine.

I didn't kill anyone in the farie bazaar. They attacked me on site the first time I went there. They said I had the killer's mark on my head or something. I think it's because I killed this one merchant.
-
Does anyone know if there is some way to get the curse lifted if the faerie bazaar is mad at you? I tried using the character editor to reset hostile towns, but every time I go into the bazaar, they say that I'm a killer and go after me. Is there still a way to get the curse lifted?
-
Thanks. I never got that far in A3 because I didn't register until recently.

I just joined and thought I would say hi. I've been playing Spiderweb games for over 5 years now since I got a demo of Nethergate from a gaming magazine. Recently, I've gone back to the games to play them again, and I'm wondering what's with the building in the northwest corner of New Cotra in A3? How do you get in?
-
The fact that Nethergate never became popular makes me mad. Nethergate is what introduced me to Spiderweb in the first place, in the form of a demo in a gaming magazine. As for Geneforge, I was never able to get into it. Of course, if you want a game that really wasn't great, try Homeland: The Stone of Night.
