That's not a problem that would be particular to one's browser. The error resides in coding of the page itself. Jeff accidentally put the period in his link.

I have the exact same problem. I have no idea what's wrong, but hopefully it can be fixed. Other than that I must admit that this is an amazing project. Out of pure curiosity, did you have a separate computer with A2 open, or did you have to keep Alt+Tabbing between the BoA editor and A2?

I know that, but I don't want to have to do it every time I play Nethergate. I like the taskbar there when I'm not playing a fullscreen game. There is a way to do it too. I mean, the Avernum games take up the whole screen just fine.
  4. Since Nethergate has always been my favorite, I'm bouncing off the walls with excitement! I think I will join with Alorael in the burning of wicker men.

    upgrading to 800x600 resolution
Does he mean 1024x768? It's already at 800x600 isn't it?

One improvement I would love with Nethergate would be to fix the issue with Windows XP that displays the taskbar. When I first played it on 98, it covered the screen nicely, but with XP, the taskbar is still visible at the bottom, and with an 800x600 resolution, this leaves for less space to stick the automap. If he could put the automap over the equipment screen like in Avernum instead of as a free-floating window, I would love that. Right-click look functionality would be greatly appreciated as well.

  5. I always wondered why they limited those things. I meam, in real life, you can pretty much wear an infinite number of necklaces, bracelets and rings.

EDIT: The ring restriction is especially annoying. Come on! You've got six more fingers! (I'm presuming that one doesn't wear rings on one's thumb. I suppose one could, but I would find it rather hindersome.)

You speak English fine. Although it is easy to tell your native of language is French from the way you phrase your words and order your sentences. NowAndAgain was only pointing out that while amelioration is technically an English word and can be found in any decent English dictionary, it is not normally used in the English language.
  7. You have to weave in and out around the posts to avoid setting off hidden buttons that close the gates. It took me forever to get through that one too.

EDIT: I can't believe that i actually had 'pust' up instead of 'posts' for over a day without noticing. I hate typos and when I see that I've made one, I instinctively correct it.

I thought Erika was such a big enemy of the Empire, why is she deep in Empire territory then?
Erika's Tower is actually under siege by empire forces in Avernum 2.

I don't have the Empire Crystal Soul Scroll, though, so I can't sneak into the back of Pyrog's lair. How do I get that scroll?
It's been a while, so I'm not quite sure what you're talking about, but as far as i remember, everything you need to get into Pyrog's Lair is in the Empire Archives on an island in the Central Sea.

EDIT: Oh yeah! Now I remember. You get the evidence in Fort Dolthar where you go to kill Limoncelli. I'm pretty sure it's on an island somewhere as well. I'm not quite sure where, but you could try checking Schrodinger's FAQ at http://www.geocities.com/zeviz1/ That usually can tell you all the things you need to go to get to places.
  9. Pyrog's Lair is accesible from the back. You have to get to the Empire Archives in the Central Sea (there's an Empire dock with some boats to the east of the main entrance to Pyrog's Lair. If you've gotten 2 of the Crystals Souls and can't get into Pyrog's Lair, I presume that you have the Souls from the Spire and Angierach. If you made it to Angierach, you can't get any farther into Empire territory. There are Empire-controlled areas that you never wil be able to enter. The only places deep in Empire territory you can go are Erika's Tower, Garzahd's Castle, and the Portal Fortress, which are only accessible from the portal in the Tower of the Magi.

It is even possible to 'convert' an existing single boot system to a dual boot (or multi boot, if you so desire.) You will need to be able to use fdisk, disk druid, or some other partioning program that can split an existing partion.
Fdisk can only create and delete partions, not modify them. I personaly use Partition Magic for Windows. I don't know if there is a comparable program for mac or not.

Another thing I miss: The old communication system. Forcing players to come up with things to ask about was, I thought, the most ingenius aspect of the Exile trilogy that set it apart from other games. The simple "click on the conversation thread you want to start" idea is used in every other RPG out there, and isn't particularly interesting.
The only problem with that is that you don't always know what tosay, or you do, but say the wrong word. I preferred Nethergate's system where you could either click on individual words in the dialogue or ask about something.
  12. Linux is completely different from windows. The only similarity is the hardware. Linux runs on PCs as well. The entire operating system is unique. The best part of linux is that it's free, so if you want to try it, it's not hard to do. The important thing to remember about linux is that you have to do everything yourself. It's designed for people who like programming and a command-line interface, soit's not for the faint of heart. However, you can grab a self-help book like Linux for Dummies or something similar, and learn how to use t quite easily. That's what I did. Now, I use linux for everything but gaming, which is why I have a dual-boot linux/windows machine.

  13. Apparently, I'm one of the only people on these boards to have this opinion, but I like Avernum better than Exile. I just find it a lot easier to use, and found Exile to be too hard. Maybe if Exile had been my first Spiderweb game I would feal differently, but I the first game I played was Nethergate, so I kind of fell in love with the graphics. I do prefer the graphics of Avernum to the graphics of Geneforge though. I also don't care for all the graphics they changed for BoA either, especially the graphics for coins. What's up with that? They just luck like metallic lumps now.
