In before this!

Thanks Micawber. I was thinking only in terms of Windows, which is a very dangerous and evil think to do. Out of habit and because it's easier, I usually tend to ignore capitalization when typing a URL. That was a great riminder why I shouldn't be complacent.
Arrna, you're quite welcome. I made that list just recently when I was playing through A1 again and very annoyed by the lack of a quest list, so I understand your frustration. I wish Jeff would do an update to A1 that adds a quest list and lets you look by right-clicking, but I probably shouldn't hold my breath.

Alright, something weird is going on. I fixed the link, but the only problem was that I didn't capitalize the folder on Aran's FTP in my link, which shouldn't have mattered but somehow did.
-
I'm not sure how helpful this will be, but I compiled a list of all the side quests in Avernum 1 a while back. I just posted it online here. Thanks to Aran for his webspace.

I'm not sure, but you might have to get past the Final Gauntlet and beat the 2nd quest before beating the 3rd quest. I could be wrong though. Also, did you talk to Erika after you got all five brooches? I had the same problem when I played at A1 at one point. You have to talk to her once you have the brooches, and then go to the platform. At this point, she should appear and tell you how to go through the portal to kill Hawthorne.

Actually, green kid only switched two letters. That's not too bad. It's not good, obviously, but not all that bad. It's funnier to read the posts of someone who doesn't know how to spell chitrach.

Repell Spirit Level 3 should work against Grah-Hoth, presuming you can get it before you fight Grah-Hoth. I can't remember where you can find it.
EDIT: I just had my fighter hack at him with the Demonslayer while my priest healed him.

That was it. Thanks, Ephesos.

So, I've searched all through Bahssikava, and I can't find the last silver triangle. I have 5 of them, but the 6th triangle continues to elude me. I attempte to find a walkthrough that said where they all were, but i could only find one A1 walkthrough online, made by some guy called AverMan. His walkthrough doesn't talk about Bahssikava at all. Does anyone know where i can find a list that says where all the triangles are?

Huh. I never thought about using summoned creatures before. I used the enter-end combat thing in Nethergate, but I could never get it to work in the Avernum games.
-
How in the world did you get past that rune? I know I never could.

It seems to me that there are quite a few of those inaccessible rooms throughout the Avernum Trilogy (and a few in Nethergate if I remember correctly). Some of them, like the area behind the Vahnatai temple in A2 were accessible in Exile, but not in Avernum. The question is, did Jeff do this deliberately to annoy us and have us waste time trying to enter a room that can't be entered, or are these mistakes?

Does anyone know what is in the hidden room in the southwestern corner of Dharmon and/or how to get in? I can see it when I cast Far Sight, but I can't get in.

I feel your pain, M.o.R. Microsoft's decision to stop using MS-DOS in XP made me mourn the loss of all those classics (good thing I have another computer with WIN98!).
EDIT: .com files don't need compatability mode. I was thinking of .bat -

It's been quite a while since I last played A1 (over 3 years, I think), so I'm a little rusty. Does anyone know what's behind this gate and how to get past it?
EDIT: Yes, I know that my party is way overpowered. I'm just running through the game with an overskilled party for fun and to prepare for the Windows release of A4

Thanks Goldenking. I forgot that it was a special ability. I was looking in the Character Editor. *Hangs head in shame*

I started a new A1 game today, and decided that I wanted Jay in Silvar to join my party. I'm curious. Is there a way to rename him?
-
They all have good parts, but A2 has the best plot. A1 was really good too, but the lack of a quest list and no right-click look makes it annoying.

Can't you just edit character statistics directly in the character editor? Seems like that is mildly less work. -

Is there a way to keep playing after winning A3?

I couldn't resist simply because I don't think I've seen an error in any of Alorael's posts before.
