  1. Thanks Micawber. I was thinking only in terms of Windows, which is a very dangerous and evil think to do. Out of habit and because it's easier, I usually tend to ignore capitalization when typing a URL. That was a great riminder why I shouldn't be complacent.

Arrna, you're quite welcome. I made that list just recently when I was playing through A1 again and very annoyed by the lack of a quest list, so I understand your frustration. I wish Jeff would do an update to A1 that adds a quest list and lets you look by right-clicking, but I probably shouldn't hold my breath.

  2. I'm not sure, but you might have to get past the Final Gauntlet and beat the 2nd quest before beating the 3rd quest. I could be wrong though. Also, did you talk to Erika after you got all five brooches? I had the same problem when I played at A1 at one point. You have to talk to her once you have the brooches, and then go to the platform. At this point, she should appear and tell you how to go through the portal to kill Hawthorne.

Actually the most interesting spelling error I ever saw on these forums was when someone on the Nethergate forum spelled Celts as "Cretecs." A lot of people had no idea what they were talking about until someone figured it out.
  4. So, I've searched all through Bahssikava, and I can't find the last silver triangle. I have 5 of them, but the 6th triangle continues to elude me. I attempte to find a walkthrough that said where they all were, but i could only find one A1 walkthrough online, made by some guy called AverMan. His walkthrough doesn't talk about Bahssikava at all. Does anyone know where i can find a list that says where all the triangles are?

  5. It seems to me that there are quite a few of those inaccessible rooms throughout the Avernum Trilogy (and a few in Nethergate if I remember correctly). Some of them, like the area behind the Vahnatai temple in A2 were accessible in Exile, but not in Avernum. The question is, did Jeff do this deliberately to annoy us and have us waste time trying to enter a room that can't be entered, or are these mistakes?

Yeah, old headquarters of nefarious characters do seem to have a predilection for being used for the same purpose by different nefarious characters, don't they?

With enough finagling, you can get pretty much any old PC game to work in XP. Just make sure that all the .exe and .bat files are in Win 95 or 98 compatability mode.

EDIT: .com files don't need compatability mode. I was thinking of .bat

Actually, all cats can purr, so the fact that the Nephilim can purr doesn't really prove anything. The fact that a roaring Nephil has never been encountered (correct me if I'm wrong) says a lot more than their purr. I would think that if Nephilim could roar, they would do so during battle and that the game would comment on this.

Upgrading to SP2 can really screw up a lot of stuff, but a clean install of SP2 is a good thing. It does have a lot of nice features, like autoupdate, redesigned wireless connection wizard, built-in firewall (even though a 3rd-party firewall like zone alarm is a lot better), and a lot of patches for security holes.
