  1. Well, it is, but that's not what the Shapers did. They had a rational, practical need and filled it perfectly by creating something new, not solving it imperfectly by adding unpredictable, unreliable, uncontrollable, and simply dangerous power.
  2. Wow, jared, you sure do make a forceful argument. The answer of the Drakons was the Unbound, which could have been done easier and better by the Shapers. The Shapers, on the other hand, didn't want to condemn innocent lives to death just because theirlives were threatened. When the innocents are all or at least mostly dead, then, and only then, do the Shapers resort to uncontrolled rogues. The Shapers did come up with something better. They created new things instead of adding unpredictable and unreliable power to old ones. The creation of new things, not the altering of old ones, is, in and of itself, a sign of superiority.
  3. Nalyd thinks he means "the plot." Which is better, by the way.
  4. Respect? They let the Geneforge sit stagnant, unused, and uncared for in a dusty back room of Northforge! They dismiss the human side of the Rebellion as ineffective and weak, and neglect the training of new lifecrafters even though it would mean little to no expense to them! Respect, Ha!
  5. One. It had Nalyd's favorite ending. Puritanical Shaper all the way!
  6. The Shapers commit genocide only when the creatures they are attacking are inherently dangerous, out of control, or horribly flawed. The point here is whether, in the Geneforge world, Drakons are superior or not. The point is not to justify or explain real-world events, no matter how morally corrupt they may be.
  7. Hmmm. Nalyd agreed to no mini-modding, but polite forum etiquette should be alright. Please tone down the graemlins. They burn our eyes out of their sockets. Double posting is rather impolite, unless you have a legitimate reason for doing it. Just use the "edit" button in the top bar where your posts are. It's considered good manners to use proper grammar and spelling, too. Other than that, have fun, leave your sanity at the door, and welcome back!
  8. *Angry choking sound* Read. . . the ****ing. . . eleven pages of this thread. . . to find out. . . Waylander is unreasonable, simply by refusing to accept reason unless it's expressed purpose is to benefit him. And if you'll excuse Nalyd, he has to go get banned from the Runescape forums again for saying how bad they are.
  9. Because the stun rock and firebolt attack are nice, but they're overly offset by the effect. Hence his/her wanting to change them. You can always give the same attack to a different creation.
  10. Yes. Go into the gf4itemchars file in the Scripts folder for items and characters. Back up your game files first, though, and if you have no idea whatsoever about what's going on in there, just ask us for help.
  11. And while we're on the subject of what the Shapers should do, why not just an amorphous blob of caustic goo that simply envelops the enemy. All they would have to do is enlarge and acidicize an amoeba.
  12. Well, that would be considerably realistic. Unfortunately, it wouldn't appeal to those crazies who don't consider the game "completed" until every last living thing is dead and every item a part of their personal hoard. Who, unfortunately, happen to be the majority. In other words, no.
  13. Well, Nalyd shamelessly advertises on every forum he can, even when they ban him for it(Runescape, the ****-pile).
  14. You're not a noob, just a newb. You od have bad grammar, though. And all these problems with items can be solved by. . . exitzone! The only cheat code endorsed by Nalyd, other than showmeall.
  15. Besides, the Robocratic Moonmen are better than the USA.
  16. Better yet, add the need for a second click on yourself and a "Click again to end your turn" message.
  17. And the Vlish need more tentacles! Three? Creatures as powerful and omnipotent as the Vlish need at least five!
  18. Make heartfelt and honest proclamations that you'd willingly pay double for said features. Or organize a petition on these boards that threatens to not buy anything unless said features are there.
  19. Well, either command or control is already taken for the description screen, and a combination would be horribly annoying, so shift seems best. It's big and not easily hit by accident.
  20. Well, Nalyd tried that, but that evil little button also randomly changed the registration numbers! Just goes to show you, the "Emergency Button" isn't even worth it in emergencies.
  21. The Shapers released uncontrolled rogues in that ending because the reasons that they hadn't before (innocents, the ecology, loyalist soldiers, etc.) were all dead or dying due to the Unbound. A Shaped human or Rebel creation accomplishes mostly the same thing as a rogue creation. Either way, loyalists might die, but with the Shaped humans and Rebel creations, there isn't the possibility of at least a few Rebels dying as well.
  22. As to the gender switching from time to time, those are just typos. You can't expect Jeff to remember everything. Well, you can, but it won't get you anywhere.
  23. The "Real Ending," as in what the next game will build off of, is most likely the Trakovite. Just because Jeff is all convoluted like that.
  24. Yes, that's why Nalyd said that he intended to. Somebody took it too literally.
